'Where are we going?' Sebastian rubs his eyes. Fatigue has consumed him, physically and mentally. They have been driving for two hours now. They made it out of the woods and are travelling to a different town. It is night-time and because of the countryside, there is less traffic.'I have no bloody clue,' Vivian yawns, 'We need to make a stop though. I am dozing off and I don't want to crash.'
'Where are we going to stop?' Sebastian questions, looking around, 'All I see is forest, not a single house and no damn streetlamps.'
'Sebastian, we didn't check the car before getting in,' Vivian shadily mentions.
'Well, we weren't exactly in the situation to check the car, Vee,' he rolls his eyes.
Vivian suddenly hits the brakes and they both jerk out of their seats. 'Vivian, what the hell!' Sebastian exclaims as his body jolts forward then the seatbelt pulls him back.
'We need to check the car in case there are any bugs. They could be tracking us,' Vivian says, turning the ignition off and opening the door. Sebastian follows her and begins to check the back seats. Vivian goes to the boot of the car and searches it.
'Clear,' Vivian yells then begins examining the tyres.
'Viv, come here now, big problem,' Sebastian yells as his fingers graze the back seat.
Vivian rushes to his side, 'Shit, he has been tracking us this whole time.' Vivian stomps on the tracking device, crushing it into pieces.
'That bastard! Let me finish checking,' Sebastian rummages through the seats.
'Clear,' Sebastian screams out, 'There is nothing else in the back seats.'
'You checked every corner and dip?' Vivian double checks.
'Yes, I did,' Sebastian confirms and steps out. Sebastian then checks the doors; he comes across a little button and presses it.
'What did you do?' Vivian huffs.
'I just pressed this, relax,' he sighs. They continue searching in silence until Vivian hears a beeping sound.
'Sebastian, do you hear that?' she yells.
'Hear what?' confusion conquers his mind.
'This beeping sound,' she answers, 'I-' Sebastian begins, 'Shut up, listen,' she cuts him off. She closes her eyes and searches for the source of the sound. She bends down and crawls underneath the car.
She quickly scurries out, 'Grab our bags, now,' she shouts. Without hesitation, Sebastian grabs the bags. She pulls him and begins to run a few meters ahead, then drops to the ground and covers him. Within seconds a big explosion occurs, they both cover their ears and shield each other.
A few minutes later, they get up, 'How did you know?' Sebastian gasps and tries to recover from the mini shock.
'The button you pressed genius,' Vivian smacks his arm, 'Was the remote for a time bomb.'
'That son of a bitch Jackson,' Sebastian blasphemes, 'He thinks he is slick, but he is no match for us,' he pats himself and hugs Vivian.
She chuckles, 'So, genius, I hope you realise how much we screwed up. We are stranded again with no food or water, no vehicle, and no clue where the fuck we are,' cynicism fortifying her voice.
'Bloody hell, I pressed the button and screwed it,' he scolds himself and sulks.
'It's okay, big baby, let's head into the forest and sleep somewhere. Also, pray no wild animal finds us delicious and comes for a meal,' Vivian rubs his back and directs him towards the forest. They both enter the forest. The moonlight shimmering and reflecting over the ground and trees, landing on Vivian and Sebastian. A cool breeze coursing through the forest, rustling the leaves. The scents of damp moss, rain and mud infiltrating their noses.
