I was wandering the grounds of Asgard, I had by all technical means finally reached twelve years old. It only took what felt like forever. . Okay, it was only about 500 years give or take, its around the 1550's right now.

Sitting down by the river I lift my dress up slightly so that it doesn't get wet, slip off my shoes and place my feet in the water with a small smile on my face as the cold water touches my feet. Moving my hand across the water I close my eyes as I imagine the water rising and forming into a small unicorn from my last life's childhood stories.

"Impressive." Loki mutters, opening my eyes I turn my head towards him and smile slightly when I see him.

"What do you need dear Loki?" I ask him curiously as I move my hands to make the unicorn disappear back into the water.

He hums and sits near me as he says irritably. "I needed to see you, your brother. .our brother, is being insufferable."

I snort at that as I begin to make small drops of water rise from the river. "It is Thor, he tends to get insufferable and he can be self-absorbed, occasionally demeaning. But despite all of that he has a good heart."

"Doesn't it make you angry?" He asks me with a drawl in his voice and I frown as I look at him, putting my hands down as the water droplets stay above the water.

I bite my lip as I think about how to respond to that, my eyes focus on the water droplets in the air. "Sometimes, but my anger never settles on just him. The universe doesn't revolve around any of us, we are just around for the journey that it let's us live."

"Its not fair." He says irritably.

I chuckle without humor at that as I turn my head to focus on him again "Life is never fair, everyone is given advantages or disadvantages in life. The way we grow from those disadvantages is what makes us who we are."

"You're too wise for a twelve year old." He says with a chuckle as my brother walks towards us with some of his friends.

I notice that Loki stiffens then, they must have started picking on him then. Perhaps I can help put a stop to it, assuming that my brother dearest is arrogant enough to let me see it happen. But there's the potential that it would make things worse for him and I would hate to be the cause of that.

"Maia! You should come join us, we need to work on your swordsmanship and your physical skills." Thor says excitedly as he walks up behind us, his hand rests on my shoulder as his friends flank him.

I look up at Thor and give him a small smile. Rolling my eyes playfully I get to my feet and then bow jokingly "Of course, brother dear."

He huffs "That won't help you learn sister, Father would like us to be strong warriors."

"I much prefer magic." I say with a hum as I wiggle my fingers and the droplets splash him in the face. "Can you beat me Thor?"

Lifting my arms up before he can answer I turn invisible, I know that Loki can sense me however. He is much more adapted in magic then I, however we both have different skills.

"Now, that's not fair Maia." Thor says with a near whine.

I tap his shoulder and then back away quickly as he turns with a huff. Walking behind Hogan I tap his belt before quickly, but silently making my way beside Loki while the rest of them begin looking around for me in confusion.

Loki chuckles quietly in amusement as we watch them glance around. Moving away from him I walk to Thor and I wrap my arms around his shoulders and my legs around his waist, startling him.

"Don't do that." Thor says irritably as he practically pouts.

"Aw, come now brother, it was fun." I say cheekily "Now, I demand a Piggy back ride."

He sighs "fine, but only because you tricked me." Thor turns towards Loki "Will you be coming?"

Loki sighs and then glances at me, then he walks over nearly reluctantly. "Sure"

Time passed from there, too slow but also too fast. By the time I was seventeen years old Thor and Loki were at odds, but it wasn't yet time for Thors descent to earth. I however wish to go, which has caused many arguments between Father, Loki and I. Thor finds it humorous, as if I'm joking, only mother supports the idea.

Father slams his fist down at the dinner table and stands up tall as he glares at me "Under no circumstances will you visit Midguard young lady. You are a princess here, you belong here."

I stand then too and glare back "They are people down there father as I'm sure you know. Sure, they don't live thousands or more years. But their people are brave, they are not perfect, but nor are we. I will go, one way or another I will go whether it's against you wishes or not." Because regardless they are my people, even if someone I'm in a different universe.

Father bares his teeth and then storms away, Loki is shaking his head in annoyance and Thor is just confused. It's the look on mother's face that gets me though.

She's not disapproving, she looks accepting and determined as her eyes focus on me. But she doesn't speak yet, not until Loki and Thor walk away as well. Gracefully she stands and walks over to me, grabbing my hand she leads me towards the Bridge.

"What are you doing mother?" I ask her curiously.

She sighs quietly and then turns to me with a small smile "Not today, but when you're a bit older you can go. I will allow it, even if I need to sneak you here to do so."

I hold back a squeal as I see Sif make her way over. Giving my mother a hug I walk to Sif and she smiles.

"Lady Maia." She says kindly.

"Are you busy?" I ask her politely, she frowns.

"I was going to see my brother. Would you like to come along?"

"Can I?" I ask her excitedly, I haven't actually gotten to meet Heimdall yet.

Sif smiles a little and nods "Of course Princess."

"Just Maia."

She nods "Come along then. After would you like to help me practice with a blade?"

"I would be thrilled!" I say happily as I wave at my mother as we walk past her. It's not them to visit earth yet anyways. It's only nearing the 1900's right now.
