There was only dust and dirt in the sepia colored wasteland that stretched on for miles around us.

A dry and warm wind blew against my face, whirling up sand as I looked down from the boulder. I knew that if we didn't finish our mission soon, we'd be caught in a sandstorm.

„Okay. Now's our chance. The guards are on the other side." Siobhan looked at me, quickly pushing back a few strands of her long, light blonde hair.

I quickly got up from my previous kneeling position. „Let's go."

We quickly climbed down the dusty boulder and snook around the corner.

The terrorists may not have been there in that moment, but it's best to check twice and not get caught. Of course we were aware oft he risks, we were members of the ITC, hunting terrorist as a part of the military department.

This time however, it wasn't enough.

As we peeked around the edge, I heard a loud noise.

A gunshot.

I looked over to Siobhan, only to see her body go limp and drop to the ground.

I wanted to scream, but was cut off by a sharp pain in my chest as I felt my body drop as well and the bright sepia fading into a black void.
