Chapter 3 - Responsibilities?

QOTD: How can you know whether you are ready for the responsibility or not?

I personally believe we are never ready for the responsibility until it came on us. Our mind prepared itself when a responsibility comes on us.

The next day, Manik and Nandini woke up, unaware that today their lives were about to take a completely different turn.

Manik came into the dining area and saw the family whispering quietly. As soon as they saw him, everyone fell silent.

He was confused by the strange behavior. Since Fab 5 were also staying there, they were present at the dining table too.

He sat down, still confused, and started on his breakfast.

Everyone remained silent until Nyonika broke the silence.

Nyo: "Manik..."

Manik looked at his mother.

Nyo: "Woh, tere liye ek rishta aaya hai."

As soon as he heard that, he choked on his food and started coughing.

Cabir handed him water, trying to control his laughter at Manik's expression.

Manik: "Par mom, maine kal hi toh haan kiya tha shaadi ke liye, aur aaj hi rishta? Matlab, itna jaldi?"

Nyo: "Baccha, ek baar ladki se mil toh le. Bahut achhi ladki hai. Tune Murthys ka naam toh suna hi hoga..."

Before she could finish, Manik got a call.

Manik: "Sorry mom, bahut important call hai, mujhe lena padega."

Nyo: "Par beta, itna toh bata, are you ready to meet her?"

Manik: "Haan maa, main tayyar hoon."

Saying this, he went to take his call.

Nyonika smiled widely.

Cabir: "Waise aunty, who's the girl?"

Everyone looked at her, curious.

Nyo: "Arey, Murthy Industries ke owner ki beti Nandini Murthy."

Saying this, Nyonika went to call them to inform the same. Fab 5 looked shocked hearing the name.

They all went to their rooms, while Fab 5 gathered in Cabir's room.

(Everyone had their own rooms in each other's houses.)

Cabir: "Guys, Nandini Murthy!"

Mukti: "Kahin yeh wahi Nandini Murthy toh nahi jo hum soch rahe hain?"

Alya: "Guys, agar aisa hai toh..."

Dhruv: "Hume Manik ko batana chahiye."

They were discussing how to tell Manik, but Cabir’s mind was elsewhere.

Cabir: "Guys, why don’t we *not* tell Manik about it?"
