Jai's POV
I'm screwed. Not only are they going to find out I'm lying, they will punish me for lying. It's not like I can fake it again because this is a brain evaluation so they will be able to tell.

I need Ellie.

But that involves telling her, but if she can help me, she can help me out of here, right?

I waited days and days for Ellie to visit, but she didn't.

My evaluation was in a month and I need Ellie's help as soon as possible.

As if my thoughts were magical, Ellie showed up at my cell, being let in by Isaac.

"Ellie I've waiting for you, I need your help badly!" I spoke without letting her get a word in.

She sighed.

"What is it Jai?"

I instantly noticed something was wrong.

"Ellie what's wrong?"

"It's not important."

"It is to me."

"It's stupid." she argued.

"I don't care just tell me." I argued back.

She ran a hand through her hair before speaking.

"I came third in a competition. It doesn't bother me as it's still good but coach Adam wasn't happy at all as it was my first ever third place. He said if it wasn't for me going through a hard time, I would have been in a lot of trouble." She spoke with a troubled look on her face.

"I'm sorry Ellie, but what's happening? Why are you going through a hard time?" She probably didn't want to tell me but it was going to bug me if I didn't find out.

She mumbled something I didn't hear.

"Huh?"

"Don't you see Jai?!" Her voice raised slightly now.

"I love you Jai. I fucking love you. And it fucking hurts to you see in here! I need you! I need your warm hugs, your breathtaking kisses, the cute dates you used to take me on. I need the protection you used to give me to feel comforted. I'm slowly fading without you. I need you Jai, I fucking need you."

I was completely shocked. I wasn't expecting that. Ellie was now crying, tears streaming down her cheeks. I pulled her in for a hug. This was the first time in what felt like forever I've hugged her.

"I need you too Ellie. I can't be without you for much longer. And I will be with you pretty soon, in a month in fact. They're letting me go." I spoke, her head burrowed into my chest.

"Wait what?" She spoke between sniffles, looking up into my eyes.

"It's true, but this is why I need your help."

I sighed and continued.

"In order to leave, they're doing a full brain test on me."

"How's that a problem if you have nothing wrong with you?" She asked confused.

"That's the thing. I've developed schizophrenia. I need you to do research on how to get rid of the voices."

A/N: let's just say there is a way to get rid of schizophrenia without treatment bc I'm not sure if there is.

Ellie looked shocked and confused. She pulled away from our hug and stood up, I stood up with her.

"But shouldn't that mean you should stay here if you've got it? Isn't that the best?"

"No, I developed it after I entered this place, it did it to me, I was fine before I came in."

She sighed.

"I'll do the best I can Jai. I'll research tonight and come visit tomorrow and let you know."

"Thank you so much Ellie."

"Jai?" She asked before walking away.

"Yeah?"

"I love you."

"I love you too Ellie."

We both smiled and she walked out of my cell. I sat on my bed and for the first time, I was looking forward to tomorrow.
