The next day, all of the members of the gang found a note in their lockers that said:
"I'm sorry. I couldn't take it anymore. You's win! I had to tell someone. I knew that you meant what you said. Your job has already been done. I will no longer be a problem for you and your friends."
Only one of the boys understood what the note meant. He took the note to a teacher. The teacher thanked the boy, then dismissed him.
The teacher rang Taylah's mum to see what was going on with Taylah. Taylah's mum then explained why Taylah hadn't been to school. In tears, Taylah's mum said "I must go and start packing away my daughters things", then hung up the phone.
Once the sad news had reached Rachel and the Guide Dogs Victoria team, it shattered them all. It affected Rachel the most. Rachel took time off work to go and visit Taylah's family, to see how they were coping with the drama.
Taylah's mum lead Rachel to Taylah's room. Rachel asked Taylah's mum if she was okay. She shrugged. "May I have a moment alone in here please?" Taylah's mum nodded and left the room closing the door behind her.
Taylah's mum popped her head back in and said "Taylah left you a note, over there on the desk" "thank you" Rachel said sadly.
She looked around the room, then realising that Taylah had photos and newsletters from guide dog events up all around her room. Rachel then realised Taylah didn't have many friends!
Rachel slowly walked over to the desk and and clutched the note in her hand. She put the note to her heart and began to cry.
