The Real Stories of Lorien (A Lorien Legacies Fanfiction)

Against The Law!

                The guests all around us smiled and looked at us in awe. I saw the three boys close to the front and I was ushered by a few maids to the back room.

              "Your majesty, please follow us. You will have a speech to make for our guests", one maid said. I followed and was seated in the back room. I listened with my enhanced hearing towards the ballroom. 

INSIDE BALLROOM

      "Hello and welcome to the LVSH! Today we would like to welcome our new guests, Six, John, and Leninculus Varin! Now I would like to introduce, Her Majesty, Crown Princess Lucina Lore!" I stood and walked towards the stage. Cheers were heard and I looked at the smiling faces.

         I smiled and reached the stage. "Now as it has been said once please welcome our new guests, Six, John, and Lenin", People started clapping and I waited for the claps to subside before continuing, "As you all know we are faced with two groups of enemies, the Mogs and the Genides.  So as long as we are faced with these threats, I will not be staying any longer. Our new guests here are, as you know, fellow Garde of Lorien." Cheers grew louder and I allowed them to continue before raising a hand, "We are tasked with protecting the people of Lorien and Vanara as my father would have done in the past. " I smiled knowing I needed to end my speech, "Thank you and enjoy the ball!"

         Cheers erupted everywhere and music started playing through the ballroom. Everyone started dancing and talking. As soon as I walked off the stage and into the throng of people a hand caught mine. Warmth spread through my whole body and I turned around with a smile. Lenin stood there and smiled back at me.

          "Hello Your Majesty, if I may can I have this dance?", he asked formally.

           "But of course", I replied keeping the formality of the moment.  

            He swept me towards the dance floor and I must admit he was a wonderful dancer. We danced and talked for hours talking about ourselves and our pasts.  

             "Well Your Majesty, I assume I've kept you away for too long?", he asked staying formal. I looked into his eyes and I saw the need, the want, and the love there. I immediately knew I didn't want to go back to all the people.

             "No Lenin it's fine and please, I would prefer to be called Luce or Lucina." I didn't lose eye contact with him as I said it.

             He hesitated at first but then smiled. "Okay Luce." His arms suddenly wrapped around me.

              I became instantly nervous and blushed slightly.  "Lenin, what are you doing?"

              "Spending time with my soulmate." He pulled me closer, "Luce I don't care what the laws are. I will be yours." 

                "The laws don't matter. They'll be changed in a year anyway." I said letting him pull me closer and closer until we were inches apart. He leaned down and our lips were inches apart.

                  "Yes they will be." Then he kissed me and it was like my life flashed before my eyes. I saw every moment as if it was a movie. Nothing mattered to me at that moment. All that mattered was him. I kissed him back and when we pulled away he brushed my cheek lightly. He leaned in again when we heard the bang. I jumped and looked around. 

                   "Stop! In the name of Lanara! Move away from the Crown Princess!", a guard shouted. 

                Lenin let me go and a few guards grabbed his arms holding him back. "No! Stop!", I shouted.

             "Your Majesty, your father has kept this law intact since his death: Guardians cannot fall in love with the person they are guarding!", a guard said. At that Lenin was swept away from the ball with me feeling at a loss.
