American Royalty

Chapter 7

Rose paced her room as she waiting for the king to arrive, her heart pounding like an 808. She wondered if he really desired her, or if he was doing his duty to supply the realm with children. Suddenly there was a knock at the door that caused her to jump in start. The doors opened as the king walked in, bowing to Rose and her servants. As she curtsied in response, Destiny beckoned the other ladies out of the room to allow the royal couple privacy.

"I apologize for my late arrival my dearest, I had to finish signing approval for new laws my ambassadors and council members suggested on," Evan explained as he kissed Rose's cheek. She smiled as she held his hands in hers.

"I understand your grace, you are a busy man after all," she said as she led him to her bed. Butterflies filled her stomach as he pulled her to him and passionately kissed her.

Rose opened her eyes as the sun filled her room, rolling over to an empty bed. She sat up as she pulled her night gown on. Before she could process the king leaving her bed in the middle of the night Destiny made her way into the room.

"Good morning my lady, Judith will bring your breakfast to you shortly. The king requested I tell you that he enjoyed your night together and he apologizes for his absence this morning. The English ambassador has come to propose an alliance and a betrothal of your daughter Princess Sarah and King William's son Prince George," Destiny explained as she assisted Rose with getting dressed for the day. Rose questioned why Evan would make a decision like that without consulting her, though she would never bring it up to him. Evan was becoming more temperate as the threat of attack from the king of Poland progressed, so she knew it was in her best interest to not display anything he may have considered offensive. As Rose sat at the table for her breakfast, Carter entered her room and bowed to her.

"My lady, the king requests your presence in court. Queen Catherine of England and King William are here with their children. The princesses are ready to follow you to court," he stated as he turned and walked out of the room. Rose stood and nodded at her ladies as they made their way to court.

When they entered into the court, the audience looked to Rose and gave her a bow with praises cried out to her. She walked forward and curtsied to Evan and the English monarchs before standing beside her husband and smiling at their guests.

"Your grace, I am honored to introduce you to my wife Queen Rose," Evan introduced as Rose stuck her hand out for King William to kiss. He smiled and kissed her hand politely, wrapping his arm around his queen.

"Your highness, I am also honored to introduce my wife to you as well. This is Queen Catherine, and these are our three children," King William explained as he motioned for his children to step towards the American monarchs. One by one his children stepped forward to be introduced.

"This is my eldest son, Prince George; my only daughter, Princess Charlotte; and my youngest son, Prince Louis," the foreign king introduced as his children all bowed to Rose and Evan. Rose smiled as her daughters were brought up, motioning to them and smiling sweetly.

"Your grace, these are our daughters: Princess Sarah and Princess Emily," Evan stated as the two princesses wobbled their way to their father. Pride filled Rose's heart as the little princesses smiled up at the English royalty. King William smiled back at them kindly before giving a humorous bow to them.

"It's very nice to meet you little princesses," he said kindly as he stood and looked back at Evan.

"George, Princess Sarah will be your wife once she comes of age," William explained as George bowed to the little princess before looking at both Rose and Evan.

"Thank you sir and madam for this betrothal, I look forward to joining our kingdoms as one once more," George said politely as he bowed to them and walked back to his mother and siblings. Evan smiled and looked at William as he smiled back at him.

"Come my Lord, we have much to discuss about our new peace treaty. My wife will entertain your family and her servants will help your family get settled in. Once the treaty is signed we will have a feast to celebrate our rekindled friendship," Evan stated as the two kings walked towards the business room. Rose watched as her husband shut the door before turning to Queen Catherine and her children.

"If you would like I can entertain you in my room. We have many activities as well as CD's that were untouched from the blast," Rose stated as she and Catherine walked towards her room.

A few days later Rose was sat beside her husband, dressed in a blue flowing dress with a golden crown encrusted with diamonds. Evan stood, motioning for King William to stand as well as they made their way to the middle of the throne room. Once they were in place to sign the treaty their queens made their way down as well.

"King Evan. King William. Do you both solemnly swear to uphold the agreements in this treaty,so help you God?" Vince, the chancellor of the faith asked as each king picked up a pen and signed the treaty, setting the pens to the side once they were finished.

"I do so solemnly swear," King William confirmed

"As do I," King Evan agreed as they both shook hands, lingering for the photographs to be taken and for the chancellor to finish.

"Then as God as our witness, these two countries and kingdoms are united by Christ and by love. If ever attack should happen to either kingdom, the other will send defense and be there to support the other: in monetary, in battle, and in necessities. Praise be to God."

"Praise be to God," the audience and monarchs echoed as the room erupted in applause. Rose smiled as Evan made his way back to her, wrapping his arm around her and grasping the attention of the room.

"Now, to celebrate this momentous occasion, we shall now feast. Music and food and fireworks to celebrate the union of England and America once more," Evan announced as he lead Rose to the dining hall, where festive music and a feast waited on the attendees.

"Have you any word of if you are with child?" Carter asked as he pulled Destiny aside, whispering to keep anyone from hearing their conversation. Destiny looked towards Rose as she sat smiling and laughing with the king. Destiny's stomach burned in anger as she turned back to Carter with a scowl.

"I am not. You must keep him interested, send for me if you must so I am in his sight. If we want this plan to work then we must be sneaky and fast. If he loses interest I am surely to be arrested for treason against the fool," Destiny quietly snapped as she turned and walked off, standing beside Rose and plotting her overthrow. She had to keep the king's attention, not just for her family now, but for her own well being. If Rose knew what was really going on, she would have Destiny arrested and executed for treason without a second thought.
