Just as your eyes were feeling heavy the door opened. You snapped awake at the loud screeching of the metal door. You were frozen solid.
A tall man with blonde hair and blue eyes stepped in. He was wearing all black and a sinister smile grew on his lips as your eyes met. You shuttered, a terrible chill running down your spine.
"Well hello princess." He said as the door closed behind him. You didn't know how to respond. "My apologies for having you picked up so late. It was my only option." He said as he circled the chair you sat in.
"Are you cold? We can have the room heated, would you prefer the ropes off? I could have someone-" You cut him off, a flash of confidence and anger bursting from you verbally. "Why do you care? You abducted me! What is it you want? Money? The crown?" You growled, your nose was scrunched up in disgust. The blonde smiled and shook his head. "Well I didn't take you. I had you taken. But that isn't the point. And soon all will be revealed after the boss decides what will happen to you." He said and you furrowed your eyebrows. This blonde wasn't the boss.. was the boss the old man at the castle? Or someone you hadn't met yet? Was this blonde him and just playing a game and suggesting he wasn't the boss?
"However, while you're here, we will make you as comfortable as we can... for a prisioner. I'll have a new set of clothing sent in and some food, I'm sure you're famished after your journey." He said and as if on cue the metal door opened. Two other men walked in, both of equal height, weight, and muscularity. One was carrying a change of clothes, a pillow, and a blanket. The other carried a bag of what you assumed was food. Both men set the items in a corner and the one with the bag had come over to you and untied your wrists which were bound behind your back while the other untied the knot keeping your ankles together.
"Hopefully the boss will come and see you. Depending on if the job is worth this risk. We'll bring in a camera to monitor you after you change. We do respect what privacy we can give you." He said, a sly grin spreading on his face. "Knock when you're done." He said as he turned around, the two other men had already left and the blonde left as well, shutting the heavy metal door behind him.
You stood up with a gulp. You rubbed your sore and red wrists. You nearly lost your balance, your legs weak from having to sit for so long and they practically trembled with fear.
You picked up the clothing, just simple black leggings and a grey top with a few numbers on the back which read '4091'.
You changed as quickly as you could, fearing someone would just walk in on you. You hesitantly knocked on the door, but it was quiet, you guessed no one heard when there was no response, so just as you were about to knock once more the door began to open and you jumped backwards, nearly falling. The same two men entered again. One faced you while the other took a small black camera and bolted it to a corner on the ceiling.
They left without a word and shut the door. You watched the door for some time but soon gave up. You retreated to your corner. You didn't open the bag as even if there was food in there you weren't hungry. You placed the pillow in the corner and lied down. You felt uncomfortable with the camera watching you so you lied down and faced the wall. The lights in the room annoyed you so you put the blanket over your head, as it was long enough. It still covered your feet with a few extra inches left. It was surprisingly a warm and comfortable blanket along with the pillow. They both smelled nice as well, like they'd just been washed.
Why were the abductors so caring in your abduction here? Weren't they just going to hurt you, torture you? Possibly kill you for money? Why put so much effort into making sure you were at least somewhat comfortable?
This whole situation was more than odd to you, not just the abduction but their attitude towards you. It irked you for a long time before your eyes felt heavy again. You closed them and soon drifted off to sleep.
You and Elina were both taking a test. You were 11 and she was 9. Both different tests but for the sake of growth and graduating the grade. You let out a nervous sigh as you answered the last question. You felt as if you did well. During the school day, you didn't see Elina until lunch and then after. Even though you were both in the same castle, just taught by two different teachers. Your teacher was nice, humble, when you made a mistake he didn't get angry or frustrated. He simply explained it as best as he could, and with imagination to keep you engaged and entertained.
Elina's teacher however, was opposite. She was quick to get on your younger sibling's case. A terrible temper and seemingly psychologically damaging to your sister's mental health. You tried to reassure your sibling that maybe she'd get fired. And you always helped your sister with her homework and other studies.
You stood up and walked up to your teacher's desk. You placed the test packet on his desk and went back to your seat, next to Elina. You could see her leg bouncing in anxiousness while she took her test. But she was almost done. You looked up to her teacher. Elina's teacher was becoming red in the face with anger and impatience while yours simply waited for Elina to finish so he could begin grading yours, as he and the other teacher always graded together.
Elina scrambled out of her seat as she had finished and placed it onto her teachers desk, getting back to her desk the same way she'd left it. The teachers graded the tests. You held Elina's hand in comfort and gave it a small squeeze which she returned the action.
Soon the teacher's approached. "Y/N." Yours began and you looked up at him. He smiled as he placed the paper on your desk. 98% was your score. You sighed in relief after seeing your score.
But a loud slam to the desk beside you took you out of that momentary relief as you looked over to see the angry lady. You looked to see Elina's score was 86%. "I expected better from you! This material isn't even hard! I gave you the easy test!" She scowled. You stood up, you'd had enough of just watching your sister get bullied. "Stop it! She passed the test! Maybe she would do better if you weren't so mean to her!" You said as you pointed your finger at the witch. "How dare you talk to me that way. Wait until your parents find out-" She began and you raised an eyebrow with a smirk. "Oh yeah? And who would they believe? An old hag like you? Or their own daughter, princess to this country. The one YOU live in! Daughter to the throne! Future queen!" You said and the lady looked at you utterly shocked.
"Get her out! And I want an immediate audiance with my parents!" You said. The lady was immediately grabbed by two guards, practically kicking and screaming. "No! NO! I'll be banned from the country! Or beheaded!" She said and you folded your arms with a sly smile. "You should have thought of that when you messed with my sister!" You shot back as she was dragged out of the room. You looked over to Elina and she was crying. "Elina-" You began in a soft tone, reaching out to comfort her but she dodged your affection and ran off crying. What had you done? Was it the yelling? Or was it because you'd have to explain to your parents why Elina's teacher was thrown into the dungeon by your command?
You had to figure out why.
