"I have a favor to ask",he responded. Looking more hesitant than before. Ah, so this is why he's acting all concerned. He's got an ulterior motive. I sighed softly, feeling a bit disappointed.

Everything seemed alright between me and Krist. He is less hostile towards me now. I'm still unsure what is our real status. I just let it go for now. I did declare he is now boyfriend but I guess he agreed to it just because he wanted a rebound or someone to shield him against his own dilemma. He doesn't seem complaining though. I don't mind. As long as I make him smile in a day and I can take those frowns away, I'm good. I can't bare to see him hurt anymore.
We are getting along fine. Though he wouldn't let me get too close to him as I wanted but then again, what we have now is better than before.
"Hey, hot guy. Wanna go out for dinner later after classes?", I asked one morning before heading out of the room.
We usually spend our time together around the University during weekdays and have strolls in the city during weekends. He just nodded avoiding my gaze as he prepares to head out together with me. I gave him a peck on his forehead when turned around facing me.
"Idiot!", he exclaimed his face instantly turned red. It is really adorable to look at. I laughed as he rushed out and walked faster as if he's afraid I would catch up. I ran after him and slapped his butt when I caught up to him.
"See you later, hot guy!", I said before running away, waving good bye without looking back.
Dinner time. We are in Shabu Shabu place. I looked at him as he began eating his meal. I have a lot of hanging questions but I was too afraid to ask before. Afraid I would touch old wounds. Maybe it's safe to talk now? Never mind. I just shook my head and let out a sigh instead. I won't ask anything. I just focused on my meal and began eating.
"Uhm..", I heard Krist clearing his throat which made me shift my attention to him. He sipped from his choco mocha while hesitantly looking at me.
"What is it?",I finally asked.
"hmm.. Nothing.", he casually replied. He is avoiding my gaze.
"If it was nothing you wouldn't glance at me every second", I teased. I can tell he got flustered again cause he's blushing. With his fair skin, his color changes is noticeable. It's really cute to watch.
"Spill it.", I said in a dominant tone.
He straightened up his seating position like a soldier who got reprimanded by the platoon leader. I restrained myself from laughing.
"It's just that.. Uhm.. You said, you're safe with me, right?", he asked hesitatingly.
"hmm", I nodded. Continuesly eating not looking at him. I heard a soft sigh before he spoke again.
"Singto..", he called out my name. It's very rare. It only happens when he's serious so I looked at him and listened carefully to what he was about to say.
"Do you still feel you're safe with me?", he asked, his eyes fixated on my face.
I'm a bit puzzled about the question but I think I know what he means.
If I answered not really. I've never been safe with you from the start. Will he be mad at me? Will he let me go? I couldn't find the proper words to answer his question.
"Let me ask you first before I answer your question", I replied. I want to know what he really feels.
"Shoot.", he said.
I held his hand and gazes into his eyes, trying to calm my racing heart. I am really nervous right now. I unconsciously held him tighter which made him look at our hands.
"Have you ever felt unsafe with me?", I sincerely asked. His face turned red again as he immediately avoided my eyes and pulled out his hand from my grip.
"Idiot!", he responded looking uneasy. Sipping from his drink again. I guess that's the answer? He still see me as just a roommate and a pretend boyfriend. I smiled bitterly as I shake my head.
I glanced at him again and answered what I think is best for both of us.
"Yes. I still feel safe with you", I nodded, slightly smiling. I avoided his gaze and so was he. We continued our meal not uttering a single word after. I guess, that settles it.
I was paying the bill while Krist was waiting for me in the parking lot. As I went out, I saw a man talking to him. He was about our age. They seemed to be arguing. I walked closer in case he needed my help.
"You left! What am I supposed to do?!" Krist argued looking frustrated.
"You could have waited for me! That's what I would do if I were you!", the stranger shouted back.
The way they talk to each other.. Could he be an ex lover?

"I thought you weren't coming back! You didn't tell me anything you just left!", Krist shouted in his full voice. I couldn't see the cute or adorable side in him this time.
"There was just some urgent things that happened. I couldn't find time to explain", the stranger replied also looking upset.
They didn't even notice I'm already there watching them bicker.
"OK, fine. I'm sorry.", Krist conceded. The new guy stopped responding, he leaned on the car looking exhausted.
I feel there was a lump in my throat all of a sudden.
They finally noticed me after a moment. I nodded at Krist, giving him the "what's up" look.
He tapped the stranger's shoulder.
"Cool guy, this is Newwiee, my previous roommate" he said introducing the man to me.
He then pointed at me and looked at Newwiee. "This is Singto my new roommate".
