The trench

The depth of it once terrified her,
She thought she'd never climb out

Of that trench she'd fallen into,
Where her terrors seemed so loud

They had echoed around her,
Chanting how weak she'd been

Now she stands above them,
With freedom she'd never before seen

She was a slave to her fears,
They had swallowed her hope too

Of ever making it out of that trench,
Without loosing every inch of her through

But now that she looks below into it,
Finally having won her war

One she'd faught with herself,
To climb up, rise above and heal from the terrors she once bore.
