Earlier in the day while my friends were distracted by the glory of winning Hiccup and I had snuck away. Now, hours later we glide so close above the water mist was rising from the speed that was kept. My skin felt irritated from the salt water hitting my eyes, the smells of my breath and the ocean mixing together. I could hear my ragged breathing through the cloth mask that sat high on my nose. The wind loudly rattled through my hood as two pieces of string kept it from falling off my head.
To my right Toothless and Hiccup glide with me at the same speed; Whiplash gurgled happily and I looked down to notice Thunderdrum's had come to the surface. Putting my hand down I lightly touched their skin the resisted water wetting my hands quickly. Looking forward Hiccup quickly dives winder a wing and rockets into the air Whiplash quickly following behind. I keep my chest close to the saddle the handles being made to where I could lay on my stomach while flying.
Gliding over the clouds I admire how the sun lit up the clouds making the water droplets stuck within them light up their color. The pure white clouds surround us as we weave around and over the other person's dragon. I smile at the feeling of wind knotting my hair; we rise above the clouds after I won our silent game of hide and seek. One of the largest Timberjack herds I had ever seen was flying above the cloud line concealing them from the grounds view.
"What do you think you guys?! You wanna give this another shot?!" Hiccup shouts and I feel Whiplash roll her eyes with Toothless.
"At this point I think you're trying to kill yourself!" I tell him and he just shows me his middle finger.
"Come on guys! It'll be fun!" He shouts shrugging innocently.
"Fine!" I groan unhooking my waist band from my saddle. "Be ready to see him die; I think he might actually accomplish his task." I mumble to Whiplash and she lets out a long sound.
"Ready?!" He shouts and I roll my shoulders back fairly excited for my rush of adrenaline.
He screams aloud as we slide off of our dragons; he keeps his arms by his side while I hold my arms out spinning around lightly. Whiplash and I circle each other her violet eyes wide and full of trouble. Her small clawed foot hits my left shoulder forcing me to spin with her, I give her a smile and close my eyes hoping she could at least get the idea I was smiling.
A flash of blue captures my attention as I open my eyes the sea coming into view, my mind springs into action looping my wrists through the small handles on my ankles. Yanking my arms up, the cloth of my handmade wings catches the wind and I'm forced violently back up into the air. Gliding over the clouds I feel my hair growing damp as we went through a cloud.
"This is amazing!" Hiccup shouts and suddenly a large pillar of rock appears. "Not so amazing! Toothless!" Hiccup screams and the very irritated dragon with a locked tail struggles to get to Hiccup.
"For fucks sake." I groan as Whiplash comes from under me and we fly to my idiotic best friend currently being held by his dragon. I watch as Toothless shot the sea stack and roll harshly onto a small rocky island and groaning.
Whiplash and I land, I dismount quickly and hand her a couple of sea slugs I keep in a small water filled satchel. Opening his wing Toothless allows Hiccup to quickly change the gears on his leg allowing his walking peg to take over. "Woo! That really came out of nowhere!" Hiccup exclaims sliding the loops of his own leather wings down his arm. Hearing a cracking sound we look back to see the giant sea stack falling into the ocean no longer in existence.
"Literally." I say as Toothless groans while smacking his mouth to regain saliva.
Untying the strings connecting the hood to my armor I let my hair now grown out a couple of inches roll down my shoulders, I run a lazy hand through the easy knots and leave the harsher ones for when I'm home. Pulling down my mask I take a deep breath through my nose a calm smile appearing on my face.
