[ Activist ]

Ocean Ramsey is a marine biologist, professional free-diver, and shark conversationist who lives and works in Hawaii. She has created many different resources to help with education and research on sharks.

Why do I recommend supporting her?:

I found out about Ocean Ramsey after watching her documentary, which originally inspired me to make this book. She does incredible things for not just sharks but for other oceanic animals and the environment. The information she puts out is very educational and helpful to those who wish to learn about sharks or help save them. I would consider her to be the most dedicated and inspirational activist I have come across so far. So check out some of the things she is doing.

Resources

I will be talking in-depth about some of the work she's done, but for the things I will not be making a separate chapter on I have decided to list here & talk a bit about.

Resources created by her that I will be taking a further look into:

- Documentary 'Saving Jaws'

- Book 'What You Should Know About Sharks'

- @ /oneoceanconservation (Instagram)

- @ /oneoceandesigns & @ /oneoceanbikini programs (Website/Instagram)

Resources created by her that I will not be taking a further look into:

- oceanramsey.com ; A website introducing who she is, what she does, and why she does it. It gives a basic overview of some projects she has and other stuff she's done. I recommend watching the ted talk video titled "Why the World Needs Sharks" on ted.com/talks or under her 'press' tab.

- @ /oceanramsey (Instagram) ; Her main page where she posts shark information as well as videos/pictures of personal dive experiences.

- @ /oneoceaneducation (Instagram) ; A page to promote the presentations about sharks and marine animals that she gives to schools. It is mainly aimed at children as it is a child-friendly profile with facts or information through visuals.

- @ /oneoceansharks (Instagram) ; A page that recognizes and showcases the different sharks that have been "ID'd." It lets us see a little bit more about the sharks they are researching and studying.

- @ /oneoceanglobal (Instagram) ; A page for ambassadors to use their voice and make an impact. It is a really cool profile that shows the community and different people trying to make a difference.

- @ /oneoceanfreediving (Instagram) ; A page that promotes their free-diving program and posts some photography of people diving.

- @ /oneoceanresearch (Instagram) ; A page that talks about the scientific research of all kinds of marine animals and gives you an opportunity to learn more about them through reading their posts.

- @ /oneoceaninterns (Instagram) ; A page to promote their internship program and introduce you to those participating.

- @ /oneoceanhawaii (Instagram) ; A page that shows the unique culture of Hawaiin islands and the oceanic environment. A nice cultural profile!

- @ /oneoceandiving & freedivewithsharks.com (Website/Instagram) A page to promote their cageless diving experience. I found it really cool actually and would love to do this someday.

Just a note: She is not the only person working in the one ocean programs, she has a team that works with her but she is primarily the face of it and is the one who runs it. I wanted to share the efforts that she is putting into saving sharks since she does a lot. I recommend you guys to follow/support her!
