I hated fighting Shadows. They reminded me of Pitch, the Boogeyman. They were easy to beat. A single frost bolt would incapacitate them, and a tap on the ice with my staff would shatter them.

But they always traveled in packs. The one I was fighting was unnaturally large. There seemed to be thousands of them. I went through them quickly, but every time I killed one, ten more appeared. At this rate, I was going to get overwhelmed.

But then I felt something strange. A sudden spike in my power levels. In an instant, I felt that power explode out of me. Every Shadow near me froze and exploded within a few seconds.

I felt the power leave me, but I could sense it as a concentration of cold. It moved fast, and I could barely keep up. But I felt like it was leading me somewhere. After flying for three hours, it led me to a Siberian ice desert. I saw the energy concentration enter a giant ice sculpture.

No, not a sculpture. It was giant glacier. The energy traveled through the ice with ease, as though it were a ghost. I watched it move until it entered the body of a frozen girl. She was blond, and frozen in a light blue dress. But her eyes were still open. And they were glowing with the same energy that had led me here.

She wanted me to get her out. And maybe I should. Letting my cloak fly off, I increased the energy in my staff, preparing to release her.
