Claire ignored her roommate as she quietly sipped on her drink. She didn't want to bother her. She looked up as the girl stopped walking next to her bed."Happy Spring break, Claire." She smiled lightly. Claire blinked at her.
"O-oh, uh, thanks." She responded. The girl nodded at her before leaving the room with a suitcase rolling behind her. Claire sighed before looking back down at her laptop. She was all alone for spring break now.
A vibration caught Claire's attention, making her jump. Reaching over towards her phone, she picked it up and opened it, grunting as the bright light flashed in her eyes.
"How long have I been sitting in the dark for?" She wondered aloud. Opening her messaging app, she saw a text from Beca. "What the..." She mumbled as she read it. She stared at it for a few seconds before climbing out of bed. She didn't know why Beca wanted her to meet her there, but she knew that if Beca had texted her, then she was serious.
Opening the front door to the vinyl shop, Claire stepped inside, brushing her (Y/H/C) hair out of her face.
"Beca?" She called quietly. She continued into the building, bumping into a table and knocking something off by accident.
"Gah, whoops." She mumbled as she bent down to pick it up. She paused as she realized what it was. It was a DVD of The Breakfast Club, and there was a sticky note on the front. A voice cleared it's throst, and she looked up at Beca as she hurried to pick the DVD up off the ground.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to hit the table, I'm just really clumsy." She giggled nervously as she set the DVD back down on the desk. Beca approached her slowly and picked the DVD back up, holding it out for her. Claire looked down at it and let out a breath before looking back up at Beca. She knew what her friend wanted her to do.
Claire sat still as she watched the ending of The Breakfast Club play on her laptop. She now understood why Jesse wanted her to watch that movie with him. Tears began falling from her eyes as she remembered all the good things about him. The smile that always made her smile back, even if she didn't feel like she could. His voice, that always seemed to enchant her with every note that came out. The way his dimples would come out when he laughed. His passion for what he loved, and the way his eyes would light up when he saw something or did something he loved. But what Claire missed the most about him, is the way his eyes would light up when he looked at her.
"Oh my god." Claire frowned as she wiped the tears from her face. She hadn't realize she was crying so heavily until then. With a final breath, Claire decided on something.
"As soon as he gets back, I'm going to tell him how I feel."
