Love In The Shadows

~Prologue~

Britannia is a country full of mysteries as many different races live together in harmony, well not completely in harmony. The different races of Britannia were divided, there were the races that would bath in the light of the goddess while other races would worship the darkness brought by the demons. In the west of the continent lies the kingdom of Liones and to the east of Liones lies the kingdom of Edinburgh. the Kingdom of Liones is made up of mostly humans while the Kingdom of Edinburgh is home to demons and vampire's.

during this time the new king of Edinburgh had just been crowned after the previous king had mysteriously passed away. to this decree all the kingdoms attended to see a new leader rise to power. A few centuries after the coronation of the king of Edinburgh, he and the king of Liones had made a bet to see who would become the new king of Camelot, a kingdom that lied in the south. the new king of Edinburgh was not an idiot and put down a condition to the bet. the king of Liones was not allowed to use his magical ability as it allows him to see the future.

the king agreed and then they both set up what they were bargaining for. the king of Edinburgh offered up his most powerful mage while the king of Liones offered up a solid amount of money. After agreeing to the bet, 16 long years went by. The king of Liones had chosen Kay Pendragon while the King of Edinburgh chose Arthur Pendragon, Kay's younger adoptive brother. When word reached both rulers the king of Liones pleaded with the king of Edinburgh to give him more time to pay but he wouldn't budge.

The king of Liones then asked if there was anything else he would want and the king of Edinburgh had a wide grin of his face. The king of Edinburgh knew that the king of Liones had three daughters all of age. so he proposed that he would take his youngest child in place of the solid amount of money he owed. The king asked what he would with her to which the king of Edinburgh explained that she would become his. When the king declined, the king of Edinburgh smiled and then laughed.  He threatened him with a war that would rage on for centuries if he didn't up hold his end of the deal. The king of Liones knew that the king of Edinburgh had a very powerful army, so he compiled with his request. Not having another option the king gave up his youngest in place to keep the king of Edinburgh's wrath at bay. At least that's what some say, let us tell you the true story of how the king of Edinburgh was able to love a girl who lived in the shadows.
