Friends (Iwaizumi x Fem!Reader)

"-and so that's why I'm in a bad mood, (n/n)-chan." 

Your ears perked up at the mention of your name and from your slouched unruly position, you swung your head in the direction of the voice, gormless.

"Huh?" you snorted out, a brow risen. 

Across from you, Oikawa Tooru gasped, a childish pout moulding his face with practised ease. "Tch, how mean. And your mannerisms are so vulgar! Were you even listening to me, I thought you cared about me (n/n)-chan!" 

Barely held-back laughs started to slip from Hanamaki and Matsukawa who were sat on either side of you, the latter squeezing his water bottle so hard in a futile attempt to hold back you were sure it was going to explode.

You twitched your head slightly, brows pinched in a frown as you stared at him. "Damn, I kinda don't care and kinda didn't ask."

Iwaizumi, who was sat next to Oikawa, let out a laugh behind a closed fist which caused his parasite of a best friend to turn -with rather exaggerated movements- to him with his eyes wide, an accusatory finger pointer at him. 

"Iwa-chan! Don't laugh at me, my heart is broken!" he snivelled. 

Iwaizumi grimaced at him and let out an irritated puff of air. 

"Clown emoji." your voice was flat, your eyes bored.

Thing one and thing two from beside you chimed in, Hanamaki with "And that's on period." and Matsukawa following up with "Asf."

A grin cracked on your face and you gave them both a high-five, giggling away with them. Oikawa let out a 'hmph' and crossed his arms over his chest before he inevitably gave in and laughed along with you. He knew that you all knew he was going through no such thing as heartbreak so the teasing and emotional dismissal didn't bother him so much. What bothered him -in a good way- was the way Iwaizumi stared at you as you laughed.

His eyes held a fondness he'd oft not get to see on his brute of a best friend. It was sickening, almost, how much Oikawa would catch Iwaizumi staring after you like some love-sick fool. Though thinking about it he guessed he really was a love-sick fool. Oikawa cringed internally. 'How cliche,' he thought, 'the pining bests friend trope.'. This gave him some ammunition though, he could tease him about it. The shoe would be on the other foot for once. He smiled. '(L/n), you angel.'.

"How is he so fucking hot? And respectful?" you screamed out in exasperation. 

"Lol." Hanamaki replied from behind you and his unenthusiastic response drew laughs from Matsukawa who lay beside you on the floor. 

The three of you were out, the weekend weather of August gracing you with warm and dry skies. Currently, you were chilling in the park on a picnic blanket waiting for Oikawa and Iwaizumi. Since everyone was gearing up for the volleyball tournaments, you hadn't had much time to spend together so today was a nice rarity. 

Groaning, you rolled over and propped your head up with your hand, elbow supporting you as you stared at Mattsuns bushy eyebrows. "Seriously though, how?"

Mattsun flicked his eyes over to yours for a split second before sitting up. "Just ask him out already, it's clear as day he wants to jump your bones as much as you do."

Heat spread its way over your face and you scowled at him. "I-I can't just do that! It'd ruin our friendship and I'm not sure I'm willing to risk that." you grumbled, plopping back down in a huff.
