Chapter 2
Originally, I planned to go to the IceRose pack to check them off my list. However, as I’m nearing their land, I’ve realized something. So, I’m going to take a little detour. The SunDust pack is just a little was off. It seems like I’m heading home for a visit,
Once again, I entered the familiar terrain of the place I used to call home. You would think that after four years, and I changing from a kid to a teenager, innocent to threatening, things would’ve changed. Not at all. The fire pit where we used to have campfires, and crap like that, was still there. The tree where I made my mark was still there. Most of all, the pack was still there.
As dusk was approaching, I slipped into the pack house uncensored. I made my way up the alpha’s office, also known as my dad’s office. Enough of my scent still smelled like pack, so they could only catch me if they saw me. And I was very sneaky.
The office doors were closed and it was empty. Once I opened them and snuck inside, I was hit with my father’s scent. I figured he’d be here soon enough, so I took my time to look around. His desk held photos of the family. Well, except for me. Typical. As I looked at one of the pictures, I noticed a young girl that I didn’t know.
She looked to be about three years old. It seems I have a new baby sister. In other words, my parents replaced me, or tried to at least. As I ran my hand over the glass of the picture, my dad entered the room.
He looked the same as always, just like the rest if this damn place. The same dark hair and dark eyes, but this time, they held anger. Yeah, I looked more like my mother. His face hardened when he saw me.
I just smiled ay him. “Hello, Father,” I said in a light, but still bored voice.
“Clarity,” he growled at me.
My smirk was pronounced as he narrowed his eyes at me. “So you do remember me,” I said. “Tell me, how’s mom and my siblings. Especially the little one. I’m guessing she doesn’t know about me.”
“Why would your mother and I want to tell her about you?” he asked in an angry voice. “Why are you back? You are not welcome here, get out.”
“Seems like someone has some hard feelings against their daughter,” I replied. There was no way I would listen to him.
“Clarity,” my dad said. “How could you just come back here thinking you’ll be welcome? How could you do that to all those people? Your mother and I didn’t raise you like that! We gave to everything you needed and wanted. You threw it all away to become a killer!”
“You did nothing for me, Father,” I said. “Yeah sure, I had a perfect life, but there were more important things to me. You think I’m only killing to kill? I have my reasons and you should know, but then again you’re so disappointed and ashamed of me that you can’t see that. What did everyone say when they found out it was your daughter who was single handedly killing all those male? Were they impressed or did they blame you. Because you sure as hell didn’t teach me those skills. You only taught Freddy and Anthony how to fight.”
