Chapter 3

Alana: I can't believe this, I can't believe you, how could you do this to me?! Since when do vampires exist? You have been lying to me my whole life. Is this the reason why we move a lot? The reason for not staying anywhere is because we were chased by vampires all the time?

Alana's mom: Yes, we had to protect you and ourselves

Alana: And why didn't you tell me?

Alana's mom: I thought it would be better, you would be more protected

Alana: You think this is being protected, God mom

Alana's mom: We were going to tell you today, but well, we didn't knew he was going to be here

Alana: And who was him by the way?

Alana's mom: He was one of the members of the worst vampire family

Alana: The worst? Why?

Alana's mom: They are the most difficult ones to kill, they are faster and stronger. Michael was a new vampire of the family. Michael's parents had the tradition of transforming their kids into vampires when they were 20, but as your dad and I killed them Michael took much more time on searching for a vampire to transform him

Alana: And doesn't he has brothers or sisters?

Alana's mom: Yes, they were 14 in total, 7 brothers and 7 sisters but now one is dead. The thing is that when one of them celebrates a year of being a vampire he or she just goes wherever they want and do whatever they want so basically is really difficult to find them all together, or to even find one

Alana: And where are we going now?

Alana's mom: We are going home so you can pack and then you will go with Ashton

Alana: With Ashton? But he is a vampire too

Alana's mom: Yes but he has been protecting you your whole life

Alana: What, why?

Alana's mom: I don't know

Alana: And why aren't you coming with me?

Alana's mom: Your dad and I need to do some things here and then we can meet you wherever you are

Alana: What do you have to do?

Alana's mom: We need to tell everyone of the group that vampires have arrived

Alana: Group? What group? Wait, your friends that came to lunch every vacation? They are vampire hunters too?

Alana's mom: Yes

Alana: Omg, how could I didn't see it

Alana's mom: Did you finished packing?

Alana: Yes, but mom, how do you know Ashton?

Alana's mom: It was when you were seven, when you made that scar in your arm, if it wasn't because of him you would be dead

Alana: But I just fell from a tree when we were camping

Alana's mom: No, that's what we told Ashton to say to you, vampires can control minds

Alana: Yes I know, but why, what happened?

Alana's mom: There was a vampire there, one of a family we killed and well, he wanted to kill you so we could feel what he felt. So when we were making marshmallows at the fire, he appeared and grabbed you by your arm, and he said: "Prepare yourselves to feel the worst feeling ever". And when he was going to do it, to kill you, Ashton appeared, he grabbed you as fast as lightning and the other vampire's nails made you that scar, then he killed him, and he told us that he would protect you until you were ready to know the truth. He erased your mind and told you that you have fallen of a tree and hit yourself with a sharp rock and then he disappeared. We weren't sure if we could trust him but, he has proved himself over the years, and we have protected him of vampire hunters like us

Alana: Wow, mom this is like too much to handle

Alana's mom: I know sweetie, but you can make all the questions you have when we are in a safer place

-They heard steps down and they went to see who it was-

Alana: Dad, what's wrong?

-Alana's dad had a really scary look in his face and he didn't talk, then he fall to the ground and he had a knife in his back-

Alana: Dad!

-She approached her father terrified and began to cry to call him, her mother grabbed her from behind and took her away from him because there was someone else with them-

Alana: Mom, dad is dead, mom!

Camille Vilkham: So how does it feel? To loose someone you loved so much

Alana's mom: Camille

Camille: I heard you killed my brother now, I thought you have gotten enough with my parents, but you hunters never stop do you? Well, is your turn hunter, the kid is last

-She approached them and Alana's mother threw a stake at her, but she avoided it and grabbed her by the neck-

Alana: No!

-Alana tried to hit Camille but she punched Alana in her stomach so strong that she hit the wall-

Camille: At least she tried

-And Camille began to hang her stronger, but then she stopped and fell to the floor, Alana's mom also fell and then got up to see what had happened. Alana had grabbed a stake that her father had in his pocket and stabbed Camille with it.-

Alana: Mom, did I just, kill her

Alana's mom: It's okay, it's okay- she said giving her a hug

Alana: Are you okay?

Alana's mom: Yes I'm okay but we need to go now

Alana: But, dad

Alana's mom: We have to hide the bodies

Alana: But...

Alana's mom: There's nothing we could do to save him

Alana: No! There was, you could have just told me before and I would know how to defend myself, but you didn't, and now dad is dead, because of you!

Alana's mom: Alana calm down, we need to go

Alana: Calm down! What do you mean calm down, what is wrong with you? Dad is dead and you act like nothing happened

Alana's mom: This is hurting me just like it hurts you but there's no time for tears, we are in danger

Alana: I don't care if I die anymore, if dad is not here and you could die in any moment, I am going to stay here and I am going to make him the funeral he deserved

Alana's mom: I'm sorry dear, but if you don't go the good way you go the bad way

Alana: What?

-In that moment Alana is injected by her mom with a needle in her arm filled with a liquid and she remains unconscious. Her mom catches her before she falls and at that moment Ashton arrives and look at all the mess-

Alana's mom: Take her, I will take care of the bodies

-Ashton nods, carries Alana and takes her away as fast as thunder-
