Avett quickly grabbed her beanie and put it one before opening the door. She wasn't expecting anyone, and she really didn't want to be bothered at all.
So she opened, right when Maisie was turning around, ready to flee the scene. However, when the younger girl heard the door open, she froze in her tracks and turned around slowly.
Their eyes met and their hearts fluttered. It didn't take Maisie too long to notice that something was off. Ave never wore a beanie, and she looked ill. However, she had never seen her look more beautiful. She looked weak and sleepy, and her body begged for her touch.
The singer gasped in surprise when she saw her ex-lover, and she started feeling terribly self-conscious about her appearance. She simply couldn't believe that Maisie was right in front of her, looking so gorgeous, while she was still wearing her pijamas.
There was tension between them, but after having gone through that terrible month, all they could feel was overwhelming happiness.
They both had a lot to say and to confess to the other, but all they were able to say, at the same time, was a simple 'Hi'.
They both laughed awkwardly, and Avett offered Maisie to come inside. With flushed cheeks, she gladly accepted.
