Arriving at the airport you pulled your bags out of the trunk of the uber and walked into the airport straight to the customer service desk. You had tunnel vision, get out, just get out of town and you're out for good.
Approaching the desk, you asked for the soonest flight to LAX when you heard a familiar voice from behind you.
"Thought I might find you here." A chill ran up your spine as you gasped and turned to see Namjoon standing with 3 bodyguards. He was wearing a bit of a disguise, but you'd recognize those dimples anywhere.
"Here I am" you muttered nervously "Joon, don't. Don't try to stop me. I'm leaving." You said nervously as you turned back to the woman at the desk.
"Hey, hey let's just talk ok? I promise if you talk to me and tell me what's going on, I will leave and I won't repeat a word of this to Hob-ah, please."
You bit your lip as the woman looked up at you expectantly "business class please, if it's available." You said to her matter-of-factly. The woman looked down at her screen and typed a few things in while you stood there biting your nails trying not to acknowledge the Namjoon in the room.
She looked up at him and then over at you "yes ma'am, there's two seats left, aisle or window?"
"window." Namjoon said from behind you. You looked down and back up at her nervously nodding "window, please"
"Namjoon, please" you said quietly, almost a whisper, trying not to say his name too loudly. You didn't want to draw any unwanted attention to him, or you, or why he was standing here with you.
The woman typed a few more things and then handed you a printed ticket. "Gate 13B Ma'am, enjoy your flight."
You turned to walk away and Namjoon beckoned for you to follow him. He led you to a small security room down a short hallway.
"Please, just talk to me." He said as he opened the door for you.
You stepped inside the room and ran your hand over your face, which you found was wet again with tears.
"Namjoon-ah what can I tell you so that you'll let me leave? What do I have to say to you for you to understand? You could ne- "
You stopped yourself short of what you were about to say. He understood and you know he did, he and the boys understood maybe more than anyone else in that airport what you were going through.
He wrapped his arms around you and brought you in for a hug. You nestled your head against his solid chest as another sob wracked your body.
"I can't do it Joon... I can't. I wasn't made for this. I can't live this life. I can't." you cried harder into his chest and he just held you there until you pulled away.
"I get it, Sunny, I get it. He's wrecked, but when he showed me that letter... listen I'm not saying you should go back, that's your decision to make... all I'm saying is, Sun, he loves you. I mean you are his everything. I've never seen him so hurt."
"I know" you cried out "and he's mine."
"So, why? Why are you leaving?"
You sighed heavily, sinking your back against the door. Why were you leaving? Why couldn't you be strong for him how he was for you?
"Because I'm a coward, Namjoon. I've lived this life with him for three years and... it's the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I have to hide everything from everyone I love because... he can't be seen with me."
Namjoon pulled out a chair at the small table in the room and held his hand out for you to sit.
You pulled your coat around you and sat down, your body was exhausted and all you could wish for was for this to be over.
