_________________________________________"I'll kindly ask you this one last time, my effeminate fellow, if you don't unhand my ears, I will bury you in the sand and leave you to suffocate to your second death!" threatened the rather annoyed Radio Demon as he tried to shoo Angel away from him for the third time that day. This was supposed to be a relaxing "business vacation to boost work productivity" as Charlie put it, and how was poor Alastor expected to enjoy it if the promiscuous spider wouldn't leave him alone!? "Ah, c'mon, Al! Ya know I can't my hands to myself~" said the little nuisance with a flirty wink. "Hmph. If that's the case, then why don't I just pull your hands right off?" Al retorted in a low, menacing voice, causing Angel to shrink back in fear.
Sensing Angel's upcoming doom, Charlie rose from her seat next to Vaggie on the beach chair and stood between the two in a nervous attempt to keep a deadly brawl from ensuing. "H-hey, guys! Let's all just calm down for a minute, o-okay?" she said. "Angel, why don't you go get one of those relaxing massages over there? Al, you go take a walk and cool off." Reluctantly agreeing to the alternatives, Angel dashed off to the sexy masseuse while Al made his way down the beach, easily avoiding the beer bottles and used condoms strewn about the ground. While walking, the deer demon became lost in his thoughts and stared out into the glowing red orb in the horizon. Besides all the obvious trash, this place brings back fond memories of my mortal days, he thought.
Memories of his mother and father taking him to the beach began to replay in his mind. The beautiful sun, the crystal clear waters, the ever-growing smiles on his parents' faces. And, at the very end of the day, was the beautiful song his mother would hum to him as they laid together on the sand, watching the sun go down. The more he thought about it...the more he could almost hear it...
"Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh~"
With a jump, Alastor snapped out of his trance and froze. He could've sworn that that song was only in his head, right? So, why was he hearing it? Or... was he even hearing it?
"I am under the trance of the Siren~"
Without noticing, a random demon brushed past his shoulder before heading further away from the beach. The words that fell out of his mouth as he passed, they sounded... odd. And his eyes seemed a bit... glossed over.
Strange, Alastor thought before following the strange man. While he was quite a distance ahead of him, the deer could still just barely make out the words be was saying."I'm under the trance...."
"...the Siren compels me..."
Soon, the dazed man wasn't even near the beach anymore, and instead stood at a strange entrance carved into a few rocks. Al followed close behind him, his red glowing eyes shining the path. The entrance led to an odd stairwell, leading further and further to away from what was supposedly already the very bottom. Soon the red light from Hell'a sun began to fade away and was soon replaced by a strange blue, neon light. The long stairwell led deeper underground until the entranced man passed through a second door covered in what appeared to be seaweed. There, Alastor stood by the doorway and peaked inside, the music he heard from earlier becoming much clearer now.
"I am here, my Siren..."
Taking a closer look, Al could see a glowing pool in the ground and, unlike most of Hell's water, it was a glowing, almost haunting blue. The demon he followed down here was now standing directly in front of the pool before dropping to his knees and staring closely into the water. All was silent until he repeated again:
"I am here, my Siren~"
Then, all of a sudden, a head submerged out of the water. Soon, the torso, as well. Alastor couldn't see the person in question, for the demon's body was blocking the creature's. For a minute, Al couldn't hear a thing, until said creature said one simple word:
"Good."
Before a second passed, the creature's head expanded and talons shot out from its face, biting a chunk out of the demon's face before swallowing the rest of it. In both shock in excitement, Alastor moved out from his hiding place and stood in full view to see the creature for himself. It was a female.
With gills.
A familiar one at that. After munching on her meal, the female fish-like demon finally noticed Radio Demon's presence and was about to lunge at him for her second meal, until her eyebrows furrowed and then shot up in both shock and realization.
"Alastor...?"
To be continued... ;-)
