So far today at school was actually one of the best days I've ever had. I'm actually having fun, besides the fact that everyone makes fun of me. I've been hanging out with Dan for most of the day because I have almost all my classes with him. We actually have a lot in common, and he's not as awkward once you get to know him. Besides being the "school slut", I have faith in this school year being good.Dan's friend Jacob is actually a pretty nice guy. I have always thought of him as a geek, but he's really sweet. The cheerleaders are still ignoring me, but that just proves that they were really fake friends.

"Okay class, so today we are going to be drawing portraits!" Mrs. Bowdry cheers, earning a groan from the class. I have art class with Dan right before lunch, so that works out well. I hear laughing behind me and turn around to see Hannah and Julisa snickering and whispering to each other while pointing at me and Dan.
"Don't pay attention to them." Dan whispers to me, putting a hand on my shoulder. I shoot a glare at Julisa and Hannah, but then face forward again. He's right, they really aren't worth my time.
"As I was saying class," Mrs. Bowdry continues "You will be working in pairs and drawing a portrait of each other! You can you the notepad and charcoal pencils in your desk to draw. Get started!" She goes to sit back down at her desk as we open up our notepads.
"Care to be my partner?" Dan asks smiling timidly. I smile up at him.
"Of course." I say. Who else would I be partners with? Dan picks up a pencil and studies my face, then starts drawing me. I watch how he strokes the pencil along the paper with such brisk and fluid movements just like a true artist. His brow forms a line of concentration and he bites his lip. He looks so cute when he is focussed and lost in thought. All of as sudden he looks up at me and laughs. My face goes red, and I notice that I've been staring at him this whole time.
"Aren't you gonna start drawing me?" Dan smirks.
"I-I can really draw." I mumble, embarrassed. Dan chuckles at me and scoots his chair closer to mine, our shoulders barely touching.
"Looks like I'll have to teach you then, huh?" He laughs, winking at me. I shrug and smile at him.
"You can try." I joke making him smirk at me.
"Pick up your pencil. We will start with the basic shape of my face." He instructs me, as I pick up my pencil. We grabs the pencil with me, his hand on top of mine. He guides the pencil along with me, forming a perfect oval shape. His hand is warm on top of mine and I can feel his hot breath on the back of my neck. I look up at him, his face centimeters from mine. We stare at each other for a while and then he looks away, removing his hand from mine. I blush and Dan clears his throat.
"Um yeah. So that's the basic shape of the face." Dan says awkwardly, scooting his chair back to its regular place. I nod and we both continue drawing. What was that?
At the end of class, we show each other our portraits of each other. Dan shows me his portrait of me first, and might I say, it was really amazing. The eyes were drawn beautifully and the hair looked so real. It looked almost exactly like me.
"That's amazing, Dan!" I say, taking his notepad in my hands for a closer look.
"You're just saying that." He blushes, running a hand through his hair. I look up at him and roll my eyes playfully.
"I am not just saying that. You have a true talent!" I exclaim, making Dan's face a deeper shade of red. I have just noticed that we make each other blush a lot.
