Nicholas's POV-

So, with lots of sad smiles, long hugs, and weird goodbyes from our mothers, in my case step-mother, we finally departed for our destination in the afternoon.

Our  pack house was surrounded by various small houses, that spread around in circular forms. Surrounding these houses were dark, thick forests that saved this area from human eyes.

My father had already completed all the paper work with the 'human' minister. They were well informed about our arrival.
As soon as we reached the outskirts of the forest, we could see the minister with around a hundred soldiers waiting for us. Here, I was impressed, first this human is punctual, second, he doesn't trust easily or underestimate his enemy. I could see us becoming acquaintances, if he turns out to be as faithful as he is punctual.

We got out from our cars, to greet him and get started with settling in. What surprised my friends, was that, as soon as we got out, they raised their weapons.
I expected that. Why would a minister take the pain of accompanying a hundred soldiers with him, if not for the fact of intimidating us?

"Ohh dude! These humans are so damn cute, they think they can defeat us, with those small weapons!", Riley said.
"Guys shouldn't we teach them a small lesson, so that they don't try to get on our nerves while we stay here?" Chloe piped in.

"Why the hell did these stupid girls accompany us? Well, yeah, because they are the best female fighters and my father wanted them to accompany me." I thought.

Anyways, I decided that before any of these idiots, who I call my friends, cause any hassle I should speak up.

"We mean no harm minister!", I said raising my hands in surrendering manner. It was as if the minister didn't even hear me. He walked towards me and said, "Really? but what if I mean some harm? Would you still forgive me and continue with your idea of peace?"

"I am pretty sure that you don't mean any harm, sir. Besides.." I couldn't even finish as a bullet went right into my chest. With my enhanced abilities I could have stopped it if I wanted to. But I didn't, to show, the minister that he could trust us and also to not let him realize the depth of our abilities.

As soon as the bullet hit me, my friends started to move forwards. "No!" I said in my alpha voice, which made them stop immediately. I could see how bad they wanted to rip the heads off of all the humans present there. But this was not how we had to deal with things for now. I took out the bullet from my chest, and the wound started healing by itself. The minister seemed surprised.
"I guess you didn't do your research properly, minister" I said with a smile. The minister was scared shitless, on hearing my words. "Never mind, "
I started, but he cut me off saying, "I am so sorry for behaving like this, this was very unwelcoming of me, but sir, alpha, umm..."
"Nicholas, would be fine".
"Yeah, Nicholas, I just wanted to show you, that even after this contract, there can be some people who may behave recklessly and try to harm you all, and I just wanted to tell you that you could deal with those specific humans as you wish to, but I would request that just as you showed your patience right now, be this forgiving for rest of the humans even in other situations.", He blabbered.

"So, you did this, to check our patience? How stupid!" Lucas said. Even before the minister could say something, Noah intervened, "Actually, its not that stupid, this was also an act to prove to us, that they trust us. Right Minister?"

This made all of our confused stares to turn towards Noah. The minister nervously began,"Your friends are more vigilant than they lead on, Nicholas."
"He knows, normal bullets are not fatal to werewolves, and they have already discovered wolfs-bane eighty years back itself, still I can't smell any wolfs-bane in these bullets. This was indeed just an experiment, Nick. Otherwise, they would have used it. Secondly the shot was precisely made just next to heart and above the lungs. None of these fighters, seem amateur to me, they could have shot your heart if they wanted to."

"So this was a way of him showing that we could trust him. I am impressed, minister." I said with my signature smirk. Minister was shocked at my reaction. I moved my hand forward to shake his hand, "It was really nice to meet you, Minister.", I said.

"The pleasure was all mine, Nicholas. I guess now we all should head towards the hotel where you all have to stay for tonight. Tomorrow I will show you all the place of your permanent stay and also around the town." He said.

And thus, we got in our cars and started following him, into the town.

But what I could not decipher was the weird sensation that ran through me as soon as his hand met mine.
