Chapter 15

He looked at his wrist watch and sighed in frustration. Diamond looked like she had no intentions of ending this anytime soon.
'So, the speculations that you have sworn with your life,never to date another woman until your dying days. How true is that?' She gave him her biggest smile.
'You all must already know that my relationship with Lisa ended on a bad note but she's my past and we both have moved on. I just haven't had enough time to have a new acquaintance whose picture and mine will flood the internet once we go on our first date together'.
'So,you're saying you can actually love again?'.
'If that is how you want to put it. Then, yes'.
'Your 'big'....' She put two fingers on the air to emphasize the 'big'. '....contract. Can you tell us a little about it'.
He shot her a dangerous look but answered the question anyways.
'I'm still working on it. So,there's nothing to tell,yet'.
'Since you're gonna be featuring another one of Mexico's big shots next month. We are gonna be seeing a lot more of your hot ass,aren't we?'
'Yes,you definitely are....'.
'Yay!'. She didn't let him finish the statement, The smile on her face widened the more and she bounced about on her seat with excitement.
'So get ready y'all, America's premium-hot-shot-bad-boy is gonna be gracing our screens the whole of next month. You might wanna prepare for a positive heart attack'. She excitedly announced to her audience. 'And..........This is where we are going to wrap up the show today. Have fun for the rest of your day'.

'Thank you for coming. Frankly, I'm surprised you actually did come. Had loads of operas prepared in case you don't show up'. Diamond said to him as they walked into the elevator.
'You know I'd do anything for you D'.
'Cut that D shit. We're no longer in high school'. She laughed.
'But,seriously D. You ask too many questions. Besides, wasn't this supposed to be a two hour thing?'.
'I don't know when I'm gonna be seeing you again. I might as well make great use of the opportunity I have now'. She shrugged.
'I'm that bad?'.
'You're worse'.
'I'll make up for it,believe me'.
'In your next world maybe'.
Both of them laughed at her lame attempt at sarcasm.
They stepped out of the elevator and he hugged her.
'I'll see you around D'.
'Take care of yourself bro'. She beamed.
He walked towards the car that was already waiting to convey him to the airport. He entered and the driver drove off.
Diamond could be very dramatic....He smiled to himself....asking him all that questions.
Her blog will by evening, definitely be filled with even the most personal things about him. And to think they will be from the original source,him.
D had been his friend from high school. Both of them had been very close that nobody believed them whenever they said they weren't dating.
Even when they had run into each other last year,the press had had several, very funny headlines to back that up. 'High school sweethearts, Daniel Williamson and Diamond Anderson meet again. Is this going to be a love rekindled?'. 'Hollywood bad boy and his high school sweetheart set to continue there relationship after his girlfriend dumped him'. 'Match made in heaven?. D and D comes back together after several years of lost communication'.
The list was of headlines were endless.
This was coming after his messy breakup with Lisa and had thankfully,been a welcome distraction to him. It had been difficult for D then as she was planning her wedding.
One of his reasons for not wanting to miss her show once more was his strong feeling of indebtedness to her after what she'd gone through at that time.
He pulled out his phone and it recorded several missed calls. He dialed Bryan's first.
'Hey man,what's up?'.
'I'm good. Where did you drop your phone?. You never miss a call'. He answered from the other end.
'I was at D's. We had that interview today'.
'Oh my God! I forgot. Man,you have to forgive me. I suck at management'.
'Yea you do'. He chuckled. 'It's certainly nothing i can't forgive you for'.
'You're in Mexico then?'.
'You could say that. I'm already on my way home though. Wanna catch the next available flight'.
'Mehn,you gotta be kidding me. No checking into a hotel? No hiring a babe to clear your memories?. No catching a business deal over a bottle or two? I cleared your schedule for Pete's sake. Dude you really have a huge tendency for misusing opportunities'.
He imagined what Bryan's face would look like while he said all that and laughed.
'Unfortunately for you Bryan,I do not need a babe to clear my head,plus, I have to be home. As a matter of fact, I have an incapacitated woman waiting for me at home'.
'Incapacitated. How?'.
'I took her home last night'.
'Who's 'her'?'
'Macy'.
'Just shoot me'.
'I had no choice. I'd be dead with guilt now if I hadn't done that'.
'Why,what happened?'.
'You needed to have seen where she was staying all alone. I couldn't think past the fact that she may have needed something and there'd be no one to take care of her. You know,a woman in her state and all that. I was afraid she may pass out on a cold,considering how sick she was.
He ran his hand through his hair. 'I'm stupid right? Taking in a stranger and leaving my house in her care all through the morning'.
'You're not stupid,man. You're being human. Besides,she has a sprained ankle. People don't run fast enough with bandages wrapped around their legs'.
'It could be a decoy. You know everything is possible in this industry'.
'I don't think so. She looked absolutely physically drained. We don't have very good actresses these days'. He said and they both laughed.
Daniel suspected he was trying to lighten his mood.
'How're your parents?'.
'They're good. Mum broke a few things in the house but she's calmed down now'.
'That's great news. I'll see you man. I've arrived the airport'. He said just as the airport came into view.
'I'll see you'. Bryan replied.
He ended the call and ran his hand through his hair for the up tenth time that morning.
