Reginas POV:

It didn't take long for my blondie to wake up. Even tho it wasn't much sleep she's gotten, she deserved every bit of it.
I didn't yet finish my work because all my brain allowed me to think about was my girlfriend's son. I really wish for my mother to find him and maybe let mother and son finally meet.

I heard a groan and looked through my living room to find a head of blonde curls slowly appearing from behind the sofa. I smiled at how sleepy she still seemed to be.

Without hesitation I made my way over to her and pulled her into a hug.

I loved them.

The warmth always made my heart melt.

I pulled back but only enough to look at her. I kissed her cute little nose which earned me a giggle from my opposite.
"How are you doing?"

"Way better after my nap. I'm sorry for leaving you like that. What were you doing whilst I was out?"

Typical my Emmy, always thinking about others and making sure they are okay.
"I'm glad you're good. And don't worry, you deserved every sleep you could get. I finished some work and made a call." The smile never once leaving my face I slowly let go of her.

As I was about to leave she grabbed my hand and pushed me against herself.
„I've been thinking-" she trailed off „and I was wondering if you'd still want me once I graduated." She looked so unsure of what to say. Just like I didn't know what she means. If I still wanted her? Why wouldn't I?

Emma opens her her mouth to continue her rambling but I stop her.
„Emma, stop. Where does all of this come from? We've been dating for about a week now and I've never been more sure of something, alright? You really mean a lot to me. Graduation is only two month away and I'm sure I'll still want nothing more than to be with you," I assure her. During my little speech both my hands moved up to cup her face in my palms.

"Thank you," she whispers as she quickly pecks my lips. I let go and kiss her left cheek before walking past her and preparing a little snack for the two of us.

Emma's POV:

Regina honestly is amazing. I've been staying with her for a few weeks from which we've been dating one. I've never felt more comfortable with anyone. Besides my Mary and David. But those are my parents. Regina Is my girlfriend and no adult knows all about my past. It was probably just the vibes I got off from my Gina but I told her, and that's what counts.

I look over at her, eating the salad she just made. This women is the only one that will ever be able to make me eat a salad. She just makes them actually taste good. But so does everything she makes.

My phone goes off and the sound immediately gives my parents away.
I cast Regina an apologizing look before excusing myself and taking the call.

"Mom?"

"Emma! How is it going? And what about Regina? Is she okay? Are there news to the fire? And-"

"Mom! Yes, we're both okay. I love being here!" I don't even have to pretend. It's the truth. If only I could stay forever..

"Eh.. no, no news. I think me giving my statement helped but it's hard to find him, you know?"

"Oh sweetie, yes. I'm sorry I wasn't there. I wish I could leave but that would cost me my job." She sounded genuinely upset.

"No beggie. I'm okay. Regina takes care of me, I really like her."

"Would you tell me if there was more to it, though?" If I'd drunken anything I'm sure I'd have choked on it by now.

"Wha are you talking about?" Of course I already knew what she's on about.

"Don't play dumb with me. I know Regina is a very attractive women and I may have or have not heard your father talking about her preferences."

When I still didn't answer she apparently took it as a sign to continue. God, this conversation is not what I imagined it to be like.

"What I want to say, Emma, is that if there was something between the two of you, we're okay with it. You deserve a bit of happiness."

"But- what about school? Isn't that like illegal?" I hear my mom sigh deeply.

"Until you graduated, it is. But you're 18 so you're of age." At this point I just stared wide eyed at my screen. How can she say this? Isn't she supposed to give me a lecture about how wrong this is?
"Thank you." I smile without realizing she can't see my genuine reaction.

"You're welcome, Sweetie." I feel like she wanted to say more but in the next moment I hear background noises.

"I'm sorry, I have to go," I wince "I'll see you soon. I love you you"

I respond with a little "I love you too" but she already hung up on me.

I shake my head, put my phone away and join my girlfriend in the kitchen.
