Ein POV
I led Aaron back to a building that traumatised us. It was the beginning. It's been the place I've went to since the beginning. I always find myself coming back to its sanctuary. Aaron was blindfolded, so he could see where we were going. He was reluctant of course. We walked towards the looming building and I removed Aaron's blindfold from his eyes. He gasped.
"Why here?" Aaron asked.
"Everything since the lodge, I've been returning here, to cherish the little good times I've had. I wanted to get away from my traumas. Even here I have many, but when I was new here, I really had happiness," I say. Aaron cries.
"Oh Ein, I loved it too," He says. He cries into my shoulder and I rest my head on his. I realised he had his wolf ears and tail out. I know I'll never get mine back.
"The sign is still there," Aaron says through tears.
It read Phoenix Drop Highschool on the giant stone board that welcome us into the school.
We walked into the abandoned building and our life here flashed before us. Both have Shadows, scars and bruises, but there have been memories so dear. As we walk down the hall, I spot something.
A single locker.
No way.
"It's still there!?" I blurt out. Aaron turns to me and says "What's still there?"
"That locker," I say, a tear running down my face "I once hid in that same locker with Aphmau. We were hiding in order to gather evidence on the people who tagged the cafeteria with the Shadow Knights logo. We were spying on Sasha and Zenix and then Principal Layla thought we were in it with them. But then your friend Zane decided to admit and take the blame, good times,". We had to walk further. It was the place we first met. Aaron then saw the old werewolf classroom. We cried harder as we sat in the cafeteria. It was before we reached the place where Kacey was beaten up, did I spot Aphmau out of the window. I nudged Aaron and we crept towards the school entrance I put my hood up. Aphmau then saw us and she ran towards the nearest door. We broke for it. She was not very quick so we managed to outrun her easily. She fell back and we raced out of the school grounds.
"That was close," I say
"Let's get back to the motel and rest up," Aaron replies.
We walk briskly back to the motel. As we reached the door we put on our best scowls and walled through. Blaze glared at me as we walk past. Once we reached the door to our room, someone shouted my name.
I turn around.
Kacey.
"Oh erm..." I stutter.
"Daniel told me everything, I forgive you,"
"Oh, thanks Kacey. Though in not sure your sister will," I reply.
"True, and he told me about you two, I guess you are over her Aaron," Kacey says.
"Yeah," Aaron replies. As we wave off Kacey, Aaron opened the door to our room. I yeeted myself onto the bed and immediately go to sleep. I feel Aaron's tail curling around my leg. He's adorable.
The next morning, I wake to find myself being stared at in the face by Daniel. I leap back in surprise and fall off the bed. I hit my head hard on the floor and I yelp in pain. They laugh ad help me up. Aaron gives me a kiss on the head while Daniel gives me a hug. I'm still traumatised.
"I guess Kacey didn't tell you him and me are dating," Daniel says. I stared at him and surprise.
"W...wow, personally I thought It'd be you and Blaze, but good for you buddy," I reply. Well, there's something I never expected. Daniel stayed with us until he had to go, Kacey business he said. Once he was gone, Aaron look at the floor.
"What's up, babe?" I ask.
"I need to take you to two other places,"
"OK, where first?" I ask
"The Middle," Aaron replies.
