Chapter No 11

He refused to talk to anyone. As a protest, he put himself on hunger strike. How can this happen that some stranger would come and live in their house. He was hating his Dad too for bringing that weird girl who have no  other business except crying and her Mom also

He cannot forget how his Dad introduced that woman to him

"Meet her Wali, she is your Mom" He tried giving his hand in her but pulling away he glanced at Sara loathfully

"NO SHE CANNOT BE MY MOM, MY MOTHER IS DEAD" He shouted and ran from there

Perhaps it was because of hunger, he was feeling dizzy and the result was he was burning with the hot fever. That time, the woman whom he hatefully denounced was there to take care of him and it was her care and concern his heart melted for her and he accepted her as his mother. He thought that only he has the right over Sara. He doesn't like the attention Sara would give to Meerab. He was used to getting all love and affection alone without any share and this trait kept growing with him but then one night when he saw Meerab crying and complaining that he had snatched her mother away from her. That night he felt really bad for her. He had got the motherly love in Sara but for her it was different

Sagheer Ali turned out to be a real step father for her and he realized that she was still deprived of fatherly love. Unintentionally maybe but still he was taking away her share of love from her  mother also

For the first time he consoled or comforted someone

For the first time he allowed intrusion by someone to his personal space

He didn't realize when caring for Meerab he became possessive about her. For the world, he was a perfect brother to her who cared for his sister but he never acknowledged that step siblings' relationship ever because in no way they fit in that relation

Even in school everyone feared to be friendly with Meerab because of his behavior. The only person ever dared to do this was Bilal. When she told him about it, it made him furious and the outcome was Bilal got a good beating after which he never crossed her way but then she fearfully told him that someone touched her inappropriately, he lost it again. She lied to him, he knew that but then assuming at his own he again pounced at Bilal but this time Meerab found out and she for the first time got angry at him. She distanced herself from him and he let her do it. She had thought this may cause his care and concern for her to be seized but she was wrong. Even being apart from her he knew every minute detail about her but after he came to America, everything changed. She used to talk with him till he got to know about her stubborn decision of studying abroad. He tried to convince her to stay back but instead reconsidering her decision she stopped talking to him. She changed her number after going to London but he somehow managed to contact her but she again changed her number and for eight years he didn't speak to the girl who once was the centre of his every thought or action. He couldn't keep himself away from thinking about her. Unknowingly and gradually, she ranked the highest spot in his heart but he never admitted it to himself but now again being with her and close to her he was afraid that he is going to completely lose himself to her

He came back after an hour wandering aimlessly on the roads but he was taken aback to find his room being locked. He tried inserting the key in the lock but it seemed the door was bolted. He knocked at the door several times but getting no answer he left with no option but to break it. He pushed the door thrice, the bolt moved down. As he entered the room, he was stupefied by the sight

Meerab was lying unconscious on the floor. He got upset by the situation

"Meerab" Going to her he patted her cheeks, even shook her violently but she didn't respond at all. He picked her up and made her lay on the bed. Pulling comforter on her, he was now thinking of every possible situation that could've caused her to be here in his room
