"Goodmorning, I'm Kyle Devlin. Please take good care of me"

The introduction of our new classmate. He's a transferee from a very previleged well-known school. He transferred here, based from what he said, because his parents just got a promotion and they needed to move out. This was the only school near at their place.

As soon as he entered the room, all eyes were locked on his presence. He's very attractive. Everything about him is very appealing to the eyes. His polished white hair, together with his cheeky smile and his red eyes that just perfectly compliments his whole appearance.

After his introduction, our professor immediately told him to go sit somewhere vacant. And guess what? The seat beside me was vacant.

"Miss Polindrick, he will be your seatmate for the rest of the school year" our professor said and I just gave him a nod.

The whole class was staring at my side. I hear whispers but whatever. As much as I want to sit near to an attractive human being, the tension is something I can't handle.

As he finally arrived at his seat, he placed his bag under his chair very neatly and sat down. I looked at him, intentionally wanted to greet him but he greeted me first.

"Hi, morning" he smiled at me and offered his hand for a handshake

I looked at it as if it was something would destroy me for the rest of my school life, "h--hey, morning" I immediately pulled his hand for a handshake.

"Name?" he calmly asks while staring at me straight with his beautiful crimson eyes.

I stuttered, "I--I'm Kate Polindrick"

"Fancy name. I like it. Nice to meet you, Kate"

He just smiled at me and started listening in class. And that's practically the day we became friends. Actually, best of friends.

We've been bestfriends for 3 years now and I must say, it's kinda' difficult to be with someone who's super popular at school, someone who has a fanclub, someone who's technically a varsity player in football. And someone, whom you secretly love for 3 years.

We sometimes hang-out at the park near our school whenever he'a not busy with his football team. We talk about a lot of things. He would always be the one to open up a conversation. He'd always ask about me. And I do the same thing too. The fact that he's the campus crush, he never really had any girlfriends. I always told him to look for one but he'd always give me that answer which I don't want to hear:

"Having you is already enough"

I know deep inside that he only meant it as a friend. But my sensitive heart is telling me to ride along, but no. I'm not risking our friendship just for my stupid unrequited love for him. I'm the problem. I should just accept this and move on.

The next whole week, Kyle was busy with his football practice and meetings. There were tons of rumors that several players at his team just suddenly quit. They started to just disappear without any notice. It was nothing really new for this past 3 years. Many students come and go for no apparent reason. I guess it just became normal. But this was important for them since they're having a huge game next month.

I went to the rooftop for some quiet and relaxing atmosphere, since I'm alone and Kyle is busy, I'd be able to read the novel I just bought yesterday. As I arrived at the rooftop, Kyle was there. He was sitting very peacefully. I went closer to him and was planning to scare him but he noticed.

"Kate, you'll never be able to scare me with a strong perfume like that"

"Dammit'" I whined and just sat down beside him.
