Chapter 10

The Next Day

Narrator P.O.V

Merlin was harvesting carrots from their little garden. He filled up his bucket and got up. He looked at the beautiful blue sky, taking a deep breath. He starts to daydream about the moment he had with red shoes yesterday. The image of red leaning in for a kiss was such bliss to him. But there was something else in his daydream. A face, Y/N's face. She was giving him a calming and sweet smile as she reaches for his head about to pet him.

Merlin was then hit by a carrot. He turned around to see Arthur. "Ow! What was that for?!" Merlin asked slightly disappointed that his daydream was interrupted. "You sir are sabotaging my relationship with red shoes." Arthur said accusingly. "What relationship are you talking about?" He asked. ' what in the fairytale island was he talking about?' he thought.

"Red shoes and I share a secret. I would tell you what it is. But it's a secret!" He said very triumphantly, proud of his connection with red shoes. "While you're busy keeping secrets, I'm going to break my curse." Merlin fired back, uninterested in the secret he shared with red. "You're nothing without your spells magic boy." Arthur fired back as well. "And you're nothing without Excalibur-" Merlin gasped at his realization. "You're not waiting for someone to pull it out for you, are you?" He asked in a teasing tone. "How did you know?" Arthur shouted while shaking Merlin. "Is it true?" Merlin asked while being shaken but before Arthur could answer the were both caught in a net.

Meanwhile with Red shoes and Y/N

Y/N P.O.V

Hans was in the kitchen making red some doughnuts. I offered to help but he refused. I went and sat next to red.

A few minutes later Hans came out of the kitchen with a plate of doughnuts. And man do they look delicious. "Hans you shouldn't have." Red said taking a doughnut. "Yes Hans you shouldn't have." I said taking one as well. "Something sweet for someone sweeter." He said as we took a bite. "This is spectacular." Red shoes remarked.

It occurred to me that Hans seemed like the mom of the group. "Oh its nothing. Just let me know what you want, anytime. For the rest of your life. Do you like fondue?" "Behold." Jack exclaimed, coming down from the stairs. "Carved by the finest jewelers out of all the jewelers I know. Which is a lot." Jack opened the small box he had in his hand to reveal a beautiful jewel. I giggled at his attempt at trying to swoon red. I swear I could almost hear a choir singing as he opened the box 😂. "And it's yours miss shoes. Yours in exchange for nothing. *Cough* except maybe a kiss. *Cough*" He tried to cover up that last part by coughing but I could hear it clearly. But I chose ignored it. "That's really sweet Jack but I don't want your jewels only your good intentions." Red shoes said. She was never the type to fall for jewels or good looks. She always looked past appearances. And I respect her for that. It rubbed off on me. That's why she was immune to my curse. She was a big influence to me aside from my mom. "But my intentions are more than good. They're superb."

"Testing! One two." We heard from outside

"Attention! hideous trolls" A voice yelled from outside. We rushed to the window to see what or who it was. "Is it dwarfs with an f or dwarves with a v I wanna use whatever is more offensive." The guy from outside said. "Who was this guy?" "Ugh it's that loser Prince Average." Jack said with distaste in his voice. "Heard that! It's pronounced Avarauge." He corrected. "Oh please." Hans said annoyed. "Inside your amateur attempt of a facade of sham of a travesty of a castle is a gorgeous wanted criminal." He yelled through his megaphone. "I here by command, that you exit the premises and surrender post haste. Fail to comply an you will never see these two again." He threatened.

"You have until three. One." He started counting.

"Two"

"I lied, Charge!" He commanded and soldiers came rushing forward.

Until the door opened. Red shoes stepped out of the house with me behind her still looking down. (A/N: Y/N has been either looking at other parts of the body or in any other direction when talking to someone just to avoid their eyes this entire time in the story.)

In the eyes of the soldiers and Prince Average the moment we stepped out it's like everything was in slow motion. All of the soldiers had stopped on their tracks and fell into a pile on the ground while Prince Average walked over their dazed bodies in awe of the beauty he is seeing. "Am I the person you want?" Red shoes asked. "Yes, yes you are. No I don't know if you're a person or a vision of beauty. And you too miss." He said in awe after completing red shoes he said the last part to me. "Some kind of angelic thing with wings. Angelic wing things." He said still in a daze. 'Is this way of flattery? Then you must be joking. This is making me feel so awkward. No wonder why Jack called him a loser. (A/N: I am so sorry to whoever likes this character)

"I will come with you, only after you release my friends." Red said. I looked at her in disbelief and said. "Red are you serious?" She only gave me a quick nod, confirming her decision. "Do it, do it! He commanded his guards and they released Merlin and Arthur and they came and stood beside us. "Now here's the good news." Prince Average said. 'What could possibly be this good news?' I sarcastically said on my head. "It's my birthday. And you are going to be the Belle of the ball and you as well miss...." He trailed off. "Y/N" I answered him. "Yes! Miss Y/N you both are going to be the center of attention at my party." I was a little- oh who am I kidding. I was completely weirded out by this guy. At first we thought red was gonna get arrested only to invite us to a party. Seriously. "The invitation sounds great." Red shoes spoke up. "Really but-"Red shoes was cut off by Prince Average "It's not an invitation, more of an order. Prepare the carriage for the ladies." Prince average said.

"They said they didn't want to go Average." Merlin said. "A-vu-rauge!" He enunciated louder. "Don't troll me troll." He said narrowing his eyes at Merlin. "So rude!" I exclaimed. Red was mad and so was I but she stepped closer to prince average to give him a piece of her mind. "I know right subjects these days now shall we." He then grabbed red's arm but she pulled it away and punched him in the face. He stumbled back and his soldiers moved out of the way until he fell to the ground. 'Man even if she's looks different she still packs a punch.' Me and the others laughed at him even some of his soldiers as his guards help him to stand up. "Get them!" He commanded before he can even properly stand up. The guards had let go of him causing him to lose his balance and fall again.

"You hold off the guards, I'll get her out." Arthur said grabbing red's arm. "No I'm faster! You stay here and buy us time!" Merlin protested grabbing red's other arm. They were too busy arguing to notice that the guards were there in front of them punching them both out of the way. I tried to grab red and get her to safety but I wasn't strong enough and they took us both.

Narrator P.O.V

Then Hans' a shield knocked out a few soldiers. It returned to him but he wasn't in his normal form so when he caught it, it sent him flying and stuck to the wall. "Here's a thought stop fighting and fight!" He said scolding the two. He was definitely the mom of the group. Jack threw Merlin's satchel and Arthur's sword at them. "So what's the plan?" he said. "Rescue red shoes and Y/N." Arthur answered. "Like the old days guys." Merlin added.
