Allen's POV

I sat there. Holding Lenalee, as sobs wracked her fragile body. I know that the promise I made, I probably wouldn't be able to keep. But, I honestly hoped I could.

I heard footsteps coming towards us, and instinctively held her tighter. I looked up, blood stained hair falling in front of my eyes. I saw finders and exorcists alike staring at us.

They probably think it's Lenalee's blood... Crap. I think to myself

"Miss. Lenalee!" I felt Lenalee look around to search for the owner of the voice. The sudden loss of her warmth sent a cold shiver down my spine.

The Expression on Chaoji's face, I couldn't begin to describe. It looked like a a mixture of horror and pure hatred.

"Let go of Miss. Lenalee." He growled. At the sound of his menacing tone I tightened my grip on her, then slowly let my arms fall to my sides.

She looked at me worriedly and sat up straighter while moving her hands to my shoulders. That's when I noticed that my blood was splattered on her cheek like red paint. I gave her a reassuring smile and turned my attention back to Chaoji and the others, the smile vanishing from my lips.

I slowly stood up letting her hands fall to her sides, my sudden action caused them to flinch, I put my hands up to show I wouldn't hurt them. As I was doing this Chaoji took the opportunity and charged at me. I pushed Lenalee out of the way so she wouldn't get hurt, and nimbly dodged his fist.

I remember right before Lenalee stopped me back at headquarters, I heard an announcement ordering for me to be killed on sight.

My life is in danger, true. But, I refuse to hurt the people I once referred to as family. They can despise me, they could want me dead. Then so be it.

But, I would never hurt them, even if it cos my own life. It's impossible for me to even dream of it. Apparently some of them don't think the same way I do.

While I was caught up in my own thoughts Chaoji took the opportunity to strike at me, this time with his innocence on full blast. At the last second i jumped out of the way resulting in him punching a crater into the wall behind me.

Before he could strike at me again Lenalee ran in between us with her arms outstretched. Silent tears were running down her face, she refused to move.

Was she crazy? She easily could have been hit.

Lenalee's POV

Seeing Chaoji trying to hurt Allen like that, made me seethe with anger. They were supposed to be family. What was he thinking?!?

As quickly as I could I got up and jumped in between them, thrusting my arms out. (*facepalm* why did pervert mind turn on the moment I wrote that?)I looked at Chaoji first, tears beginning to blur my vision. I couldn't help but notice his surprised face.

He must have thought it was my blood. I thought silently.

I turned my head slowly to look at Allen; I saw shock and concern displayed on his face. The concern seemed more pronounced. I wonder why?

"Yamate..." I said; barely above a whisper. "Onegai... Yamate" I said a bit louder. "Onegai..." I fell to my knees, sobbing again, my hands covering my eyes.

I felt strong arms wrap around my body like before and, knowing its Allen, leaned into the surprisingly muscular arms.

"Shhhh... It's okay. Everything is okay" He repeated barely above a whisper. No, it's not. Your friend just tried to kill you. How is that OK? I thought.

I could feel everyone's surprised stares piercing my back. I just gripped him tighter, taking two fist fulls of his shirt in the process. "Onegai, don't hurt him" I could tell they were confused.

Why would I want to save a Noah? Someone labeled a traitor?

Simple. Allen would never betray us. He must of gone with them for a reason. Right?

Slowly he rocked me back and forth, while humming the 14th's melody, trying to calm me down.

Slowly my tears stopped falling. Resulting in me gasping for air, in an attempt to replenish my oxygen deprived lungs. Finally, I caught my breathe, the sad look never leaving my face.

"Miss. Lenalee... Get away from him. He's dangerous." Chaoji said "He killed Link."

"No he didn't" Immediately I turned my head in alarm, to see Kanda with a permanent scowl etched on his face. "You may as well come out now." He said turning his head towards a dark corner.

Slowly a figure came out of the darkness. When I saw his face I couldn't help but gasp. "Link..." I mumbled.

I looked to my side to see surprise and relief etched into Allen's face. Didn't they find his body? I thought how is he alive?

I looked around to see almost everyone else sporting the same expression as Allen. That is everyone except a certain samurai and a few finders.

"He still nearly killed him" said Chaoji recovering from the shock.

"no that was someone or something else." said Link. "Matte, why did you pretend to be dead?" I asked.

"Inspectors orders." He stated calmly. An uncomfortable silence followed as no one knew what to say.

All of a sudden Allen moved my hands from around his torso to my lap, and slowly stood up. A few people visibly flinched but he ignored it.

"I need to speak to Rouvelier. Onegai." He said calmly.

I was shocked was he crazy? Him going back to HQ right now was a death wish for him.

Allen's POV

This is probably the dumbest thing I have ever done. But, he needs to know. "Get in the carriage" one of the finders said "We're going to the Order.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yamate=stop
Onegai=please
Matte=wait
I think that's the only ones... Anyway I have a valid excuse
1) was in a place with no phone for a week :(
2) the day after I got back my friend was put in the ER so I was a worrywart
3) brothers friends came the day after and stole the computer
4) day after that it happened again
Oh and also I'm gonna put a little vote in the next chapter for this series so look forward to that.
Yeah... anyway, it was short I know. I thought it was longer. hope you enjoyed
~Bye~
