How To Write Better Smut

Lesson 1: 💞 F E E L I N G S 💞

When you write a book, you don't just write actions. You write feelings and emotions and dialogue. Sex isn't just an action. It's a deep and personal connection between two people in order to express their love. (Even if you're writing some kinky shit, that's still a bonding moment between characters.)

Find some type of way to weave the rest of your story into the smut, whether it be with dialogue, more description of feeling to drag out the scene, or just good old romantic caresses or some shit. And no, not automatic babies for a "consequence."

In my opinion, smut is probably one of the hardest things to write, because it's so detrimental to characters and their development. Also there's the fact that it's super hard to incorporate the amount of raw emotion into a written piece without being an amazing wordsmith. (Which obviously, I am not 😂)

Of course you don't need to write every single detail, but still find a way to stretch it out as much as you can. For example, add more foreplay, but don't just say "he takes her bra off." Say "He gazes up lovingly at her, taking the strap of her bra into his teeth and slips it down her shoulder." (It's a lot more noticeable if you do this for the entire scene) Find some sort of intimacy between your characters.

If your character doesn't do "intimacy" and is just emotionless during sex... they're weird. Just kidding... kind of. ANYWAYS, if your character is emotionless during sex, maybe flesh out the character a bit more. (Unless the character that the mc is with isn't the actual love interest, or the sex is MEANT to be bad, then really flesh out the boredom and disinterest.)

Pretty much, add more feelings and senses. Sex is supposed to be overwhelming, but in a good way.

So yeah, have fun, don't share your smut with people you know, cause they'll make fun of you, and make you feel like you HAVE to delete it. 🤡
