Chapter 18

Avril's POV

"Your girlfriend, uh?" Drake said while looking at me.

"Yeah, why?" tanong ni Ethan.

"Nothing. I kind of.. know your girlfriend" Drake said. I was so nervous, but I tried to look calm. Hindi niya pwedeng sabihin. Hindi pwedeng malaman ni Ethan ng ganito! Hindi pa, hindi pa sa ngayon.

"Really? Do you know him babe?" Ethan asked me.

"Huh? Uh.. no?" I pretended.

"Well.. you're girlfriend and I are--"

"Schoolmates!" I cut him off. "I suddenly remember! Were schoolmates back then, right?" I laughed sarcastically.

"Your girlfriend has a sharp memory, Captain" Drake said to Ethan.

I went immediately to the cubicle after that conversation. I almost passed out. I called Zoe and told her what happened.

"Ang tigas talaga ng mukha niyang gagong yan takutin ka eh noh!" she reacted.

"Zoe, stop blaming Drake. It was my fault. I don't know what to do anymore, I'm so tired of hiding" I break down.

"Kung pagod ka na at hindi na talaga kaya ng konsensya mo, sabihin mo na kay Ethan" she said.

"Believe me, I really want to.. but I can't, I'm so scared to the thought of him leaving me" I cried.

"Then, you should prepare yourself"

I saw Ethan leaning against the wall, waiting for me. I smiled as I approached him.

"Are you done? Okay ka lang? May masakit ba sayo? Gusto mo meds?" Sunod sunod na tanong niya.

Kitang kita ko sa mga mata niya ang pag-aalala. I want to tell him it's a lie. I want to hug him and cry on his shoulder.

"I'm okay now" I smiled.

I got up early the next day, though I don't want to go to school because of Drake, I have to dahil may pangarap ako.

"Dito na tayo dumaan" Bri said.

Papunta kami sa volleyball court ngayon para panoodin sila Mikee at Marga.

"Linyahan yan ng may mga gustong makita eh, alam ko na yan" I said.

Ayoko dumaan sa tinuturo niya dahil nandoon ang BM Building, ang building nila Drake pero wala akong nagawa dahil hinila niya ako. Iniwan ko muna siya kay Pao at nagpaalam na lang ako sakaniya na pupunta akong washroom. Paglabas ko, bumungad sa akin si Drake. I stopped for a while and continue to walk as if I didn't see him.

"I didn't know you were so good at hiding, uh?" I stopped walking when he said that.

"Stop threatening me, Drake"

"Why? Are you afraid of telling him the truth?" He walk towards me so I step backwards. "Do you want me to do it?" He took another step causing me to lean against the wall. He was so close to me.

"No. I want you to keep your mouth shut and don't intervene with our relationship" I answered.

"Okay, I'll do what you want but I will only stay quiet for two months. Dalawang buwan Avril, dalawang buwan para sabihin sakaniya ang totoo, kapag hindi mo nagawa, then, I have no choice but to tell him that i'm your fiancé" he said.

I pushed him away from me and then I went back to Bri. I can't focus on the game. Iniisip ko ang sinabi ni Drake.

Mabilis na lumipas ang mga araw at hanggang ngayon, hindi ko pa din nasasabi ang totoo.
