I had no idea that my father didn't know.
"But Erica, it is best if we tell him. What if he finds out on his own?" My mother continued to press.
"He won't find out on his own, you know how he is, plus she is in 1899. Not only that, she is in New York. She loves what she does up there, and we help her pay for food and a place to live. The people she works with love working with her. She gets so much money. She only gets a penny from each person, but she breaks them if don't buy something from her." I argued.
"I still think it best to tell your father that you have a sister."
"She has been there her entire life. Last time I visited..." I trialed off thinking of how happy she was last time.
"Your father's coming, we will continue later."
"Okay."
"Hello, what have you two been up to?" My father asked. He is still a terrible spy. I guess if he got away with all those lies the CIA doesn't have many good spies at all. Or he just paid them all to keep quiet.
"Nothing, but I should go, I don't want everyone to wait to long." I walked out of the room slowly, but once I got out of sight, I ran. I ran like the wind. I didn't want my father following me, so I didn't stop until I was by the intersection. I looked back and saw I ran through the entire neighborhood. We lived at the back, in a house just like all the others.
A black limo with windows darkly tinted was parked not far from the entrance. It was closer to the entrance of a nearby neighborhood, but Grandpa only did that so nobody knew where I lived.
I opened the door and hopped in. Ben, Mike, and Zoe were already there.
"Your mom trying to get you to tell him again?" Grandpa inquired.
"Yeah. Then he came in. She told me that he would find out on his own if I didn't tell him." We both started laughing because we knew he would never find out without help.
"What's so funny?" Ben asked.
"Sorry," I replied, "It is a family secret. But, at some point all three of you will have to learn about it at some point."
"Erica, you need to remember that Leo can't be protected forever."
"Leo loves it there. And I visit. Liam tells me what has been going on and then a few of us head up to where Leo is."
"Who is Leo?" Zoe asked.
"A friend." I replied.
"How about we visit Leo?"Grandpa asked.
"Yeah!" Ben, Zoe, and Mike yelled. I had yelled no, but Grandpa was most likely gong to take us to Leo.
"If all of us go, Leo will be in danger." I reasoned.
"Erica, Leo knows how to fight. And Leo has so many other people who need Leo there."Grandpa said.
"How do you plan on getting us there?" I asked
"Why can't we drive? How far away does Leo live?" Mike asked
"A really long time away."
"That makes no sense."
"When you meet Leo and Leo's friend, it will make way more sense. Right now it doesn't, but trust me it will. We Leo first told me that I had the same reaction. Now, grandpa, what was it you needed us for?"
"Well, it requires Leo." Grandpa answered.
"What?! No!" I screamed.
