Episode 7
I tried.
I tried very hard to listen to the lady who was constantly babbling about her new shoes. But she was speaking way too fast and my mind was distracted by the dark gazes of my husband.
He was engaged in a deep conversation with Lukas and Hades. Both of them were attractive men with their styled hair and thick arms, perfectly ironed suits with a perfectly trimmed beard.
It was a sight to behold, from all the people present there, he only introduced me to them which proved enough that he respected them.
Although I didn't get the privilege of talking with them for more than a minute because the woman in front of me introduced herself and started talking to me like we were old buddies.
"I'm so sorry I know, I ramble sometimes, I'm sorry. I hope I didn't bore you." The woman whose name was yet to be known by me said in embarrassment.
I mentally kicked myself for judging this lady so fast without knowing where she was coming from.
I smiled. "No, of course not. I may entertain myself with a drink, do you need one?" I asked as I got up from the chair they had so neatly placed in the room.
She shook her head but threw a kind smile in my direction. "No, you go ahead. I will talk with them for a minute."
She pointed towards the group of ladies who were already looking at us, venom dripping from their eyes making me gulp in fear. They looked like someone who would like to kill you with their eyes.
Lord help her.
But I didn't say that. I smiled at her before I slowly marched towards the minibar they had set up in the corner of the room.
"One Bloody Mary please," I announced as soon as I reached there. The bartender looked at me like I had grown another pair of heads as he gauged my reaction.
"It has vodka in it." He said like I didn't know that.
I frowned at his direction. "I know that. And the last time I checked, bartenders weren't giving any free general knowledge classes."
He shot me a dirty look before started making my drink.
"Add that on my tab." A deep voice commanded behind me.
I turned around and found Francisco, standing there with a proud smirk on his face.
"Mr. Morreti, " I gave him a sarcastic smile. "I think, I told you not to play any games?"
His smirk widened, he put on his hands on each side of me, trapping me to the edge of the bar.
"I'm not playing any games. Just trying to show my appreciation towards an infinite beauty like you." He leaned more towards me, making me uneasy and skeptical under his presence.
"Can you just... Take a step back?" I placed my hands on his chest to push him away but he leaned further, still holding a smirk and pure depravity in his eyes.
"I think I like the view from here." He said in a disgustingly menacing voice.
"She told you to step back, my dear friend."
I couldn't have reacted faster as Luciano pulled Francisco off me by his collar and punched him straight on his face. The cracking of teeth was the first of my sounds we heard.
Francisco first tried to fight back, throwing a few punches here and there but then he realized he was fighting a lost battle so he laid there with Luciano punching his friend like he wasn't in his home.
