Harley
I had gotten a call from my doctor telling me to come to the office so she can speak to me face to face about my results and honestly I'm a little nervous. I signed my name in and sat down playing with my fingers as my heart raced.

"Harley James."

I stood up and walked to the back the nurse checked my vitals then placed me in a room and closed the door. I sat my purse next to me and let out a sigh as I waited on the doctor come.

A few minutes later there was a knock at the door and the doctor walked in.

"Hey Harley."

"Hey Dr. Wilcox."

She washed her hands and sat down on the stool.

"Okay the results from your mammogram shows that there is a growth."

"So what does this mean?"

"I'm going to go in and remove the growth and send it over to pathology."

"Okay when you can do it?"

"Today if possible."

"Yeah let's do it."

"Alright I'm going to get your papers for the biopsy and you take it over to the hospital and give it to them then I'll meet you in the outpatient room."

"Okay."

Dr. Wilcox walked out and I grabbed my phone and sent my aunt a text letting her know what's going on. I saw that India text me I rolled my eyes and ignored her message and responded to Alexis.

"Alright Harley here's your papers."

I took the papers Dr. Wilcox went over how everything is going to go then I walked out of the room and out of her office. I got in my car and started it up I placed my seatbelt on then I responded to India's message. I drove off heading to the hospital.

As soon as I got to the hospital and out of my car I saw my aunt and a man walk over to me.

"Auntie what are you doing here?"

"I came to be with you."

I smiled.

"Auntie it's not a full on surgery I'm just getting the growth removed and that's it Dr. Wilcox will be calling me with the results within a few days."

"It doesn't matter."

Deciding not to argue with my aunt I just nodded.

"You even beautiful in person," the man spoke.

"Thanks."

"Harls this is your father Gabriel."

"Nice to meet you Harley."

"You too."

"I know you have a lot of questions and I have all of the answers right now let's get you inside."

"Okay."

We all walked inside of the hospital and I walked up to registration I handed her my papers and signed in.

1 hour later

My aunt went back to work and now it's just me and my dad and we're at the park.

"Were you and my mom ever a couple?"

"Yes we was I loved your mom with everything in me she didn't have to want for anything she didn't have to work but she made the choice to work."

"What happened between you two?"

"She was 7 months pregnant with you when I caught her doing drugs and drinking with the man she's married to now I beat his ass and immediately rushed her to the hospital because she had did so many drugs and drunk so much alcohol she was rushed to have an emergency c-section. Once she recovered I sent her to rehab while I cared for you in the hospital I named you and all. The doctor told me that you making it was a slim chance but I had faith and a praying mother we prayed for you. Two months had went by and to our surprise as well as the doctors you had no birth defects and healthy as ever and I was able to take you home."

"How did I end up with my mom?"

He chuckled.

"She signed herself out of rehab the day before you was able to go home and when I arrived at the hospital the day of I was met with the police telling me that they had a warrant out for my arrest. Turns out your mother reported that I kidnapped you and tried to kill her the evidence was stacked up against me and my lawyer tried his best to fight the case but no matter what he said I was still looked as kidnapper and basically a killer."

"Wow."

"See your mother slept her way through rehab to erase her ever being there she was supposed to be there for 6 months and we would've been in Haiti for a year with your grandma but she lied and I did 20 years in prison because of her and I spent the last 4 years in Haiti on house arrest and parole now that I'm off of parole and a free man I came back to the states to reunite with you and hopefully build a relationship with you."

"I would love that."

"You would?"

"Absolutely."

"Your aunt told me what you're doing for a living."

"I know you're not happy."

"I'm not because you didn't have to do that but I understand you had to make a living for yourself."

"I did."

"Now that I'm here you don't have to do that anymore."

"Tonight is my last night I'm retiring anyways."

"Do you know what you want to do?"

I shook my head.

"Well that's fine until you decide I'll take care of you."

"Oh no you can't do that I'll be fine."

"You're my only daughter and it's only right I missed out on 24 years of your life think of it as me owing you for missing out on your life."

"Okay."

"Do you have somewhere to stay?"

"Yes I just purchased my first townhouse."

"Okay."

"What is that you do?"

"I own several hotels here in the states and the Caribbean and I own my own construction company when I went away your uncle held everything down for me."

"Oh okay."

I checked the time.

"I have to get going to go meet with a client but I want you to come over to my house tomorrow night for dinner."

"I'll be there."

"Great."

We both stood up and walked to our cars we hugged and said our goodbyes to each other and got in our cars going our separate ways. My dad can't make up on what he missed in my life but we can make new memories with each other. I can't believe that my mom is an evil woman how could she just blatantly lie and have my dad taken away from me I have to meet with her soon cause now I got questions for her.
