Ryder and the pups have split up to find Chase in farther away areas.

(Jake, Marshall and Everest)
They set up camp beside a frozen lake with some penguins.

"They are so adorable! I love playing with these little penguins." Everest said as she slid down a snow hill with some penguins.

"Yeah, they sure are cool little dudes." Jake added.

"Hey Jake, have you seen Marshall anywhere?" Everest asked.

"Yeah, he said he'll go look around to start searching for Chase." Jake replied.

"By himself?! I have to go find him!" Everest said as she ran off.

Just as she was about to leave the campsite, she bumped into the one pup she ever worries about.

"Hey! Easy there tiger." Marshall chuckled.

"Marshall! Where have you been?!" Everest exclaimed.

"Didn't Jake tell you? I went out looking for Chase around here." Marshall said. He saw Everest was in tears.

"Hey, hey. It's okay now. I'm here." Marshall tried to calm Everest down. She rested her head on his chest.

"Don't ever scare me like that again, okay? I can't handle being alone again." She said in between sobs.

"Don't worry. As long as I'm here, you'll never be alone." Marshall's eyes widened at what he just said.

Flashback
A young Dalmatian pup was wandering through the woods alone.

"Mom? Dad? Where are you?" He yelled out.

Just then, a large raccoon jumped out of the bushes and was looking at it's dinner.

His natural instincts kicked in and told him to run, so he did. He ran as fast as he could but the raccoon was just as fast as he was, maybe even faster. He was finally tired and stopped in a clearing. He was shivering in fear as he thought this night to be his last.

"Anyone! Help me! Please!" He yelled out. He was backed into a tree where he would be mauled and eaten. But this didn't happen. A German Shepherd pup about the same age as him showed himself and barked really loud at the raccoon, loud enough to scare it away.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" The German Shepherd asked.

"N-no I'm fine." The Dalmatian said.

"Oh, okay. I'm Chase."

"Uh, I-I'm Marshall."

"It's nice to meet you, Marshall. Why are you here all by yourself? Where's your parents?" Chase asked.

"They, uh, they might have left me alone." Marshall answered.

"Why?" Chase asked.

"I-I don't know." Marshall replied.

"Well if you want to come with me, my parents would be happy to take care of you." Chase offered.

"Really? You won't leave me alone here?" Marshall asked.

"Don't worry. As long as I'm here, you'll never be alone."

Flashback over

"Hehe." Marshall laughed at the sudden memory.

"What's the matter?" Everest asked.

"Oh it's just that....well.....Chase said the same thing to me when his family adopted me." Marshall explained.

"Come to think of it, if it wasn't for Chase, none of us would have met each other and the Paw Patrol wouldn't have existed, right?" Everest asked.
