Chapter 29: I want to learn...

Day 20 and Xion is still in a deep sleep...well more like she's comatose. Her bedside was filled with different types of seashells. All from the beach you and Roxas would go to.

During these couple of weeks you and Roxas started to grow closer. Everyday was a day you'd always remember for the rest of your life. And day by day, not once did Roxas say anything related to him not having a heart. It's like being with you makes him forget. As far as knowing your feelings for him, nothing really intense happened between you and Roxas. Whenever he had the chance to finish his missions early, he'd come to you immediately. You both would get ice cream together (with Darien who was in the next stand over giving you his wiggly eyebrows). You'd also hold hands like you two are actually dating but then would let go because when you are back at the tower hanging out with Axel you didn't want him to suspect anything.

Axel on the other hand, seemed to keep more to himself, always deep in his thoughts. Or he's just in a daze. You did try to get him to talk to you and see what was bothering him but he would immediately put on his smirk and say something like...

"Shouldn't you be worrying more about your boyfriend?"

Or something related to that to throw you off track and that would end up with you blushing immensely, puffing out your cheeks in a frown and telling him that you and Roxas weren't like that. (Sadly to say because he's still processing the term love to actually figure out if he's ACTUALLY in love with you or not).

And it's true that you two act like a couple, holding hands and always being together and such but for some reason deep down you know this could all be one sided.

"I can't believe it's already been 20 days and Xion still woken up yet." Roxas frowned down at the sleeping ravenette, his voice waking you up from your thoughts.

You watched his eyes tremble with worry that he'll never see his friend again.

"Ya' know if you keep thinking that way, it'll only make things worse for you." You said poking his cheek. "You got to think positive. There's still hope that she'll wake up soon. I mean she's still breathing which is a HUGE relief." You drifted your hand to his shoulder and rested it there. "And besides, you forget that Xion is tough. She wouldn't let anything bring her down." You smiled genuinely at her.

He nods not arguing because he knew you were right. He's gotta keep smiling for Xion and wait for her to come back to you guys, no matter how long it takes. Looking at you smiling down at her made him grin as he places his hand over yours that's on his shoulder.

"Hey (Name)."

"Hm?"

"Why won't you tell Axel that you love me?" If was like a hit to the chest, knocking the wind out of you as you at first didn't know what to say to this sudden question. Geez this boy is really something.

"Uh-uh-well-um..." you stuttered pulling your hand free from his and stepped back. "Wh-what do you mean?"

"Well whenever I say anything about that around him you freak out and changed the subject." He looked at you with uncertainty. "Isn't it a good thing that you love me—" And there goes another hit which turned into a reflex that made you press both your hands over his mouth to keep him from talking anymore.

He muffled under your hands as you were at first looking at the ground rather than into his eyes.

"It's...it's a great thing. An AMAZING thing to be in love with someone, don't get me wrong. But it's kinda embarrassing telling other people. Especially people like Axel." You mumbled the last part under your breath even though Roxas still heard it. His brows furrowed as he moved your hands from his mouth and held them.
