Grim knew he was dreaming almost immediately; he had never been inside this library. Something felt different about this dream he had his cloak on and he knew Grim Reapers don't dream about the souls they've collected. It was a way their brains to cope with the amount of death they face daily. But there he was wearing his thick black cloak no scythe he quickly noticed both his hands were empty.

"Okay so I'm not here to reap any souls but I'm in my cloak," he thought to himself trying to rationalize what was happening around him. He began wandering the library, the rows of deep mahogany shelves full of books seemed to go for miles and miles. Finally and seemingly out of the blue a little librarian desk appeared with a little bell atop. After ringing it a little old desk came to the desk.

"Hello, how can I help you?"

"Where am I? Why am I dreaming in my cloak?"

"Name?" the old lady asked, ignoring his questions.

"Grim Snyder but-"

"Well Grim you're in luck I have the perfect book for you."

"I really don't need a book, I need to know what's going on." The old lady ignored him walking away to one of the bookshelves and looking for a book. When Grim tried to walk over to her he noticed that his legs would not move.

"Tell me, Grim, how have you been working as a reaper?"

"I passed my trials at 15 but I just finished my training."

"Interesting and now you're moving to America"

"How did you know that? Where am I? Why am I here?"

"You're here because of your soulmate"

"My soulmate? What about them? I haven't met them yet have they passed away? Is that why I'm in my cloak?" Grim's mind began racing and an aching tightening feeling began to form in his chest. He wanted to cry and his legs began to feel weak.

"Your soulmate is alive Grim. They're ok, don't worry. I'm here to tell you a little about them." A wave of relief washed over Grim; he didn't realize that a chair had appeared in front of the desk and that he was sitting in it.

The old lady handed him a book, " Read it."

"A Chance in The World by Steve Pemberton*? What does this have to do with my soulmate?"

"It's their most important possession. Something about that book is special to them. Read it." Knowing it was important to his soulmate was enough to convince Grim who normally despised reading he opened the book and began to read. He managed to read for what was probably an hour before he woke up.

He was still in the airplane and his dad was shaking him awake.

"The plane is landing, get ready," His dad said.
