Every day, Bright sat in the tiny basement, watching the CDs that had been left behind by the previous owner. How can someone be so pleased by making a vlog? he wondered, watching the boy on screen. This boy has a rabbit-like smile... it's kind of endearing.

That morning, he got up, took a shower, and changed into fresh clothes.

His mother called from downstairs, "SON! Honey! Breakfast is ready!"

"Coming!" he shouted back.

He made his way downstairs while his mother prepared the table. One of the seats was empty, so he sat down.

"Hey, Mom," he began, hesitant, "I wanted to tell you about this boy I found on the CDs."

"Hmm?" she replied, glancing up.

He exhaled deeply. "So, when we got here, I found some CDs in the basement. I watched them, and they're vlogs of a boy a little younger than me... and honestly, I think I like him? I'm not sure, Mom. But the point is, I want to return these CDs because they belong to him. How can I find him?"

"Ho! Ho! My son has a little crush!" his mother teased, smirking.

"Ugh, Mom, just—please help me," he pleaded.

"All right, son. What's his name?"

"Uh... Win Metawin."

"Win Metawin, huh? That name sounds familiar... hmm. Okay, Bright, go on all the social media sites, type his name, and see what comes up."

"Thanks, Mom!" he said eagerly.

After finishing breakfast, he returned to his room, remembering that he still had one more CD to watch. Clutching his laptop, he made his way to the small basement, sat on the floor, and played the CD. Surprisingly, Win didn't appear—only three of his friends were in the video.

"Hi, I'm Fong, in case you remember. Win asked us to make one last video here last week," Fong began. Silence followed. "So... it's January 5, 2019. We celebrated New Year here at our friend's house," Phuak added. "This is our first New Year without Win," Fong said, voice cracking. "I... I'm sorry, we have to end this now," Ohm added, tears rolling down his face.

Bright stared, puzzled. Why were they crying? What happened to Win? Was he okay?

Curiosity gnawed at him, but he set those questions aside for the moment. He returned to his room, sat on his bed, and pulled out his phone, searching for Win Metawin across all social media platforms.

After some time, he still couldn't find anything. Remembering that he didn't have a Facebook account, he downloaded the app and created one. To his surprise, he stumbled across Win's profile. Excitedly, he went to the account page and pressed the message button.

"Uh... hello! I think you might be the previous owner of the house we just moved into. I found some CDs in the basement—your room, now my room—and I wanted to return them to you."

He nervously typed and sent the message.

Ding!

"Oh... I'm sorry, but I'm not Win..."

"Hello, my name's Bright. But who are you, and why are you using his account? Are you a hacker?"

"Oh no, sorry! I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Fong, and if you saw the videos, you already know who I am."

"Oh, right! You're friends with Win, aren't you? But why are you using his account?"

"Actually... Ohm, Phuak, and I manage this account now."

"Uhm... okay. But where's Win? I want to return the CDs to him. And why are you handling his account?"

"Woah, easy there! Well... Win's not with us right now."

"Huh? Why not? May I ask where he is?"

Cliffhanger! What do you think happened to Win? You'll find out in the upcoming—and probably final—chapter. LMAO. Like I said, it's a short story, so don't expect too much from a newbie. HAHAHAHA (>) I'll continue soon!
