The End of the Beginning

I glance around my room, knowing this would be the last time I would see it. The pastel green walls with colorful paint splatters are bare; some spots a shade darker from pictures that used to hang there. My bed still looks the same, the black comforter perfectly laying there and my purple, green, and blue pillows carefully placed. Across the small room was a area where a canvas lay, worn with paint splatter and scuff marks with an easel set up eager to be used. I spin around once more, looking at the room that took me 10 years of hard work to make. I let a lone tear shed

"They were awful to you Aryanna, you shouldn't be crying!" I convinced myself and no more tears escaped. I go over to my nightstand and take the small sack of money Ive been keeping and saving for this day. The day I leave my awful foster parents house. I stuffed it in my messenger bag, grab my duffle bag (with the enlargement charm) of clothes and set down my note where I know they will eventually see it, on my easel. As I go to open my window I hear a small voice call my name.

"Sissy, where are you going?" I flinch and turn around to face my sister, in her pink princess nightgown looking at me. I get straight to the point with her and just tell her the truth.

"Kay, I'm leaving. I can't stay here anymore, I'm sorry sweetie. I'll miss you." I kiss her forehead and turn around, I can't bear to see her expression. I feel a small tug on the hem of my shirt and see her holding up a bear with a picture attached. The bear I gave her for Christmas; I take it, she kisses my hand and hugs me. Then she leaves the room without a single word. I place the bear in my bag and open my window. I look down and see the trampoline still up. Perfect. I throw my bags down and see them land bouncing up and down twice. Then I jump, I close my eyes and feel the fall air nipping at me as I plummet to the trampoline.
