She walked past those trees, waiting. The silence unnerved her, as she scanned the woods. After walking a good distance, she waited at the black line. The black line separated her world from his. She stood like a thirsty cherry blossom tree as the wind began to shuffle her leaves. Quietly, she looked ahead, her eyes wandering for a second towards a shadow.

She smiled. So he is playing tricks again she thought to herself, as she watched the shadow disappear. Laughing quietly to herself at his behavior, she took out a Black Diamond from her bag. He loves these she thought to herself as she rolled it over the black line. Out jumped a figure, no taller than a baby standing on its legs. It rolled the apple over and then bite it. She laughed quietly at his habit of rolling things before eating them.

"You really don't change, do you?" she said laughing. The figure looked and twitched his ears in happiness. The small figure leaped on her, licking her face. "Lupus, down. It tickles!" she said as she fell on the ground laughing. Lupus stopped licking her, he jumped over her legs again and again. "Why do you do that? Okay come on, let's get you to eat more food. Have you got any idea how important it is for you to eat?" she lectured.

She took out the rest of the items from her bag and placed them neatly in front of Lupus, who sniffed each and every one of them. Lupus saw the last item and at once jumped and sat on the carrot. "Lupuss!!" she moaned, "Why do you always do that? Carrots are for eating, not sitting and on the other hand, these are from abroad so show some love."

But Lupus was in no mood of showing love, so she just gave him the rest of the items which were leaves, apples and water. After Lupus was fed, he decided to get of the carrot and nibble the whole thing.

Lupus, then, sat at the position of a howling wolf and made small noises, which were his version of a howling wolf. "Lupus!" she said as she fell down laughing, "What kind of deer howls? I guess that is why I named you 'Lupus' which is of course Latin for wolf. Well I have got to go and you have to go to your hiding spot and take this apple with you, I got an extra one" Lupus whined. "Lupus you have to stay hidden. I will come back, I promise. I just don't want people to know about you. You are very special."

Lupus was no ordinary deer, in fact he was an extraordinary one. Lupus was an albino whose mother had abandoned him when he was a baby as he was different from the rest. What made Lupus more extraordinary was that he was taken under the care of a she-wolf when he was left to starve. The she-wolf raised him as her own until she was hunted down.

That was when Lupus came into her life. Albino deer where very normal in these woods but Lupus was different than the albinos too. He had pink tipped ears. The reason she wanted to keep him away from the world was that she had seen what they did to unique animals. They locked them up in cages and set the animals as an exhibit for people to see. And she wasn't a fan of that.

As the hunting season came in, she made extra care to make sure that no one, literally on one new about him. "Plus if I stay a little longer, Dad would notice that I am missing and ... he is gonna get very mad." She said looking worried. "So stay, here! I am going to see if I can come and read you a bedtime story. But you know the laws, no one is allowed to cross this black line. If I were allowed, I would stay with you for longer periods. People notice that I sit at the edge of this line for a long time. So I got to go. I love you very much, just remember that. Byee!!" She said as she ran towards the village. Lupus slowly disappeared in his hiding stop, apart from the wood; apart from the mysterious world.
