I woke up to the bright light streaming through my window. I checked my phone on the night stand and it was 11:00am. I got up from the bed slowly trying not to cause anymore injury to my already aching body. I feel better than yesterday but I was far from being better.

I went to my closet and grabbed a pair of socks, grey sweatpants and a thin white crop top. I went to the bathroom, took a shower and brushed my teeth. I ran my hand through my hair to detangle the knots and put it in a messy bun.

I made my way downstairs to make breakfast because I was starving. I made french toast, scrambled eggs and bacon. I grabbed a glass of smoothie that I had remaining from the night before. I devoured the food in less than 8 minutes. I washed the dishes, grabbed an apple, some grapes, a big bottle of water and a bag of fritto lays from the fridge and went to my room.

I spent the rest of the day snacking and studying on the coach in my room.

I was watching a movie when my phone rang. I checked the time and it was 8:20pm and the caller's ID showed that it was Emeralda calling. "Hey Em", I greeted. "Hey Rose, it's a conference call, Sindy is also on", she said. "Heeey bestie poo!!!!, why weren't you at school yesterday or today?" Sindy inquired.

"I came to school yesterday but I only stayed for first period because I wasn't feeling well and Mom wanted to make sure that I was ok before going back to school so I stayed home today" I replied in my most convincing voice. I hated lying to them....but to protect them from my demon of a stepfather, I had to do what I had to.

"Are you okay now? " , Emeralda asked concerned. "Yes Em, Everything's ok, how was your day?", I replied changing the subject smoothly. "Uhhh, it was horrible, I did bad on my English test", Emeralda groaned. "She's just being extra, she scored a perfect 88% on the test, I'd be ecstatic if I could even score a 65% on an English test", Sindy said boredly. "I'm not being extra",Emeralda replied "Yes you are", Sindy challenged.

"No I'm not" Emeralda countered

"Yes_you_are", Sindy said as if she was talking to a toddler.

"Whatever", Emeralda flipped Sindy off defeatedly. "Thanks for checking on me girls, I love you both so much but I'm tired, so goodnight", I said stiffling a yawn. "Goodnight my loves.I love you both", Emeralda said. "Goodnight bestie poo and Emmy poo, I love me too" Sindy said arrogantly. We chuckled at her antics and hang up the phone.

I switched off the tv and went to bed.
My alarm woke me up the next morning. I looked out the window and it was raining heavily. I loved the rain. I went into my closet and grabbed a high waist jeans shorts, a red sleevless croptop, a black sweater and my black hightop converse.

I went to the bathroom, took a shower  and got dressed. The bruise on my cheek was still brightly coloured so I covered it up with heavy makeup but not too much to make it look like a mask. I put my hair in a sleek low bun with two strands at the front to frame my face. I was still feeling pain in my lower abdomen but not as bad as the first two days.

I grabbed my bag from the bed and went downstairs. It was 7:00 am so I made a sandwich. I placed the sandwich in a ziplock bag, grabbed a bottle of fruit juice from the fridge and drove to school. I pulled up in the school's parking lot  and devoured my breakfast while humming to "Naked by Ella Mai".

When I was finish it was 7:50am. I threw away the garbage and went  straight to class.

I sat at the back of the class and waited patiently for  Miss Jenkins to arrive.  She arrived fifteen minutes later. "Good Morning class. Some of you did well on the test and some of you did bad.", she said as she distributed the papers. I got my paper and not surprisingly, I got an F. I sighed.
