bryce pov (i know different haha)

will i see her again?  or will we just be a thing of the past? will i get to hold her again, or will she just be another ex. she isn't just another ex. she means so much more to me than just an ex. maybe even a soulmate? HAHA no. maybe? no. denial? no. wait.. yes? no? i'm confused. do i love her, or is she nothing to me? she means a lot to me.

my comments still talk about her like nothing happened a few months ago. i remember when she was mine. now i have nothing besides a reputation of a problematic party animal. i need a break. something to get her out my mind. like a vacation or something.

"dude, we need a vacation. i need to get my mind off things and just need to relaxe." i said to josh as he was editing this weeks teatok. 

"bro i was thinking the same thing. maybe get the guys and some weed and hit the road." josh responded.

jaden walked in and said, "especially the weed. bryce needs it, all he thinks about is addison." 

"simp." josh laughed.

"shut up, at least i don't talk to my ex."

jaden pretended to be shocked and said "i'm not as in love with her as you're in love with addison."

[time skip]

today was the day we hit the road. we had our gps, phones, and marijuana. none of us think about things before we do them. obviously we do now, just wait..

we took a group picture in front of our fire camper van and inside it too. we all hung out and jaden and josh were the only ones smoking surprisingly. i wasn't because i was taking a nap.

all i heard when i woke up was, "sir, wake up and go sit over there by your friends. you are all in big trouble, you know."it was a cop. i was so confused. i just wanted to get my mind off addi and now worse things are happening.

i sat about 6 feet from blake and he looked at me, scared. i knew he wasn't smoking. neither was i. it was just jaden and josh.

shi- i remembered, josh is from canada. he could get deported. i knew what i had to do if it came to it. josh is my best friend and if this works he owes me big time. if it doesn't then i could be facing my own consequences for lying, same with josh.

the officer sighed and said, "we found weed, boys. who was smoking it?"

jaden raised his hand. a different officer put him in handcuffs and pushed him against a police car. josh was about to raise his when i dismissed him and raised mine. josh was shocked and looked like he could either smile or cry. i couldn't tell. an officer came off and handcuffed me and pushed me against a car.

we drove in silence to the local police station. when i was there, they took a mug shot, and made me empty my pockets and change into a bright orange jumpsuit. i hated every second. then they took me in the hall and said i had two calls.

[flashback]

december 23rd, 2019..

"bryce let's make a promise." addi said as we sat on her bed.

i pecked her lips and asked, "what is it, addi?" 

"if either of us ever get in trouble, we will help each other. we know what to do to help each other. no matter what. bryce you know i care so much about you." she looked me in the eyes.

"promise." we pinky promised, smiled, and leaned in for a kiss..

[end of flashback]

i dialed the number and prayed for an answer.

narrator pov

addison rae sat on her bed texting charli about what she did that day in quarantine. 

addison never stressed in quarantine. she saw the time as a time to be greatful for her health and not stress over the small things.

she still thought of bryce when she laid in bed by herself. when she popped popcorn and watched netflix. when she filmed tiktoks. she knew she wasn't over him.

when her phone rang and her screen brightened with an unknown number she answered. addison is not one to decline or ignore a call.

"hello?" the brunette said into her phone.

"this is an automatic voice message from lee county sherrifs department. this message is from inmate bryce hall." as soon as the robot said bryce's name, she almost broke. but she had to be strong for bryce.

"bryce oh my god please tell me you're safe." 

"addi, i'm safe but i'm scared. please, i'm in texas and i need help. anything addi." bryce responded. she could tell he was hurting. she had no clue what happened.

"bryce i can't come to texas, especially in the middle of a global pandemic. i can send some money over. but it will be a few hours. bryce i just want you to be okay." addison said crying.

"addi please don't cry. you can pay online but i really don't want you to pay for me. addi-" addison was sobbing by this point.

"okay bryce, j-just please stay safe. i-i love you."

"i love you too addi, text josh or griffin and ask them to pay some. and addison, please stay okay for me. you don't understand how much i care for you."
