Communicate with people!
When people comment on your story, reply with your appreciation. Tell them that you're grateful that they're supporting by commenting/voting on the book.
Comment on other people's stories!
When you comment something on someone else's story, someone might come across your comment and find it funny, comedic, overall interesting... etc... and that might draw interest to your profile, leading them to check out your works.
Comment on other user's message board!
This could help a lot as well!; however, try to not do this on any big accounts, because they might not see it since they get many messages.
And be nice! Tell them that you would be grateful and thankful if they helped. A few reads is better than nothing right?
Update frequently!
No one likes waiting for an update. Especially when the author only updates once every two weeks. Yes, we have a life outside of Wattpad, but then you also don't want angry readers begging you to update 24/7. This brings me to the next thing:
Have pre-written chapters!
This way if you're ever busy but you need to update, you can always go into your drafts and publish the next pre-written chapter.
Join awards!
The purpose of award books are for your books to get noticed. So getting in the top three can get you many prizes, including a medal to put on your cover and place in a winners book/reading list. This can prove to many people that your book is worth reading!
