14 August 2033.

It was the day when Lu Fei and his parents had an accident. They were going somewhere in their car when they had an accident.

A truck had smashed into them. It was later revealed that the truck driver was drunk.

Both of his parents have died as a result. Lu Fei was lucky to survive but he was sent into a coma due to taking a head injury.

The most fortunate thing in the accident was that his sister was not with them. She was on a school trip and has avoided the accident.

That was the most important thing to Lu Fei. It was his sister's safety.

Although his sister has avoided the accident, Lu Fei was not lucky enough to avoid it.

He was in the coma for a month but in reality, he has transmigrated into a parallel fantasy world.

He has lived in that fantasy world for 10 years or it can even be said that he has lived in a battlefield for 10 years.

Everyday was a struggle of life and death for him but despite all the struggles, he has managed to become a famous mercenary.

There were no guns in the fantasy world and he wasn't compatible with magic at all. That's why, he had taken the warrior path.

It was only possible because he was taken as an apprentice by a old mercenary. Lu Fei learned the basics of survival from him.

After that, he has formed his own mercenary group and found comrades that he has considered his family.

He was only able to survive the cold reality because of them but in the end, he has witnessed them dying in the battlefield.

“Help…”

He has heard that word from his comrade's mouth but he was unable to help him. He was too weak to do so.

In the end, he had seen his comrade's head fly away and blood spluttering everywhere. It was a gruesome sight.

But the more gruesome fact was that Lu Fei has alone survived that battlefield. That battlefield that had swallowed everything but him.

It has left him broken in the end.

After that, he has fought countless wars as a mercenary but there was a major difference between his previous battles and his current battles.

Previously, Lu Fei was afraid of death. He fought to survive before but after seeing his comrades death, Lu Fei fought to die.

That was the fundamental difference between his battles. Lu Fei was looking for a battlefield to die and he finally found it after many battles.

Lu Fei has died fighting the soldiers of the most powerful empire in the whole continent.

It was a tough battle but Lu Fei has managed to kill countless enemies before finally dying at the hands of the top knight of the empire.

Lu Fei was not angry or sad about his death. He was instead happy about it. He thought that he would finally be able to forget the dying faces of his comrades after experiencing death himself.

But he was wrong.

After dying, Lu Fei has found himself back to earth. He has managed to escape from the fantasy world but the memories of his comrades death has never left him.

“Help…”

Cold sweat filled his back as Lu Fei abruptly woke up from his sleep. He was panting and his chest was heaving like he had been running for the whole day.
