it was early in the morning when kim junkyu woke up from his slumber. the boy groggily rose from his bed and made his way to the bathroom to begin his morning routine.
making his way downstairs, he made some small talk with his brother before making him and himself a quick bowl of cereal.
junkyu stepped out of his home after saying a quick goodbye to his mom and made his way to school. the korean had his earphones in and admired the crisp autumn breeze that brushed against his light porcelain skin. The various trees that slowly passed him by was painted with reds, oranges, and yellows as he leisurely followed his regular route to school, disregarding the time that ticked by faster than he would've liked. despite junkyu's troubles and hardships between him and his father, as well as additional stress from school, he found that he thoroughly enjoyed the serene atmosphere he gets when he's walking from and to school, as it was really the only time he gets to be alone and let go of his worries, even if it was only for about fifteen or so minutes.
slowly seeing the familiar building appear in his field of vision, he quickens his steps after glancing at his wristwatch and realizing that he was going to be late for his first class. He hastily made his ways through the dispersing halls whilst trying to dodge the students in his way. Nearing his first-period class, he jogged a slight bit faster to turn a sharp a corner, however, while doing so, he accidentally slammed into the person in front of him, causing the two of them to tumble to the ground.
as soon as he came to realize what had just happened, junkyu quickly turned to the person while profusely apologizing when he noticed who the person was. mashiho took junkyu's extended hand to pull himself up from the cold floor, "stop saying sorry hyung, I'm fine!" junkyu hastily chuckled in slight relief as he scratched the back of his neck. the two then began panicking when they heard the blaring of the school bell ring throughout the hall, indicating the beginning of class and that they were late. knowing that they have the same first-period class, the two sprinted to the same direction to get to their math class.
"good morning boys, you're lucky I didn't start the lesson yet. Go to your seat and take your notebooks out." mrs. lee muttered from her desk, seemingly getting her own notes ready to teach the lesson of the day. the said boys bowed in apology and quickly made their way to their designated seats, junkyu beside asahi and mashiho beside jaehyuk.
"you're friends with kim junkyu?" mashiho heard the familiar voice whisper to him. "yeah. we kinda accidentally met a couple weeks ago, but just become friends a few days ago. why?" jaehyuk tilted his head in slight confusion and disapproval, "you know he doesn't really have a good reputation right?" hearing that statement made the japanese turn his head towards jaehyuk, not forgetting to notice the faint green aura surrounding him. he was displeased, but too much. mashiho can know how strong a person's emotions are simply based on how light or dark the colour of their aura is. the japanese turned more towards the latter and looked at him questioningly, motioning for him to continue. his pupils would've sported a light orange colour, curiosity, if not hidden behind his coloured contacts. "yeah, I heard he's in a gang or something. i never really talked to him but he always gave me the bad boy vibe you know?" "but he's always been nice to me beside that one time when we first met..." mashiho trailed off, he couldn't imagine junkyu being so rebellious.
the first class ended with mashiho still pondering with the information he learned of his new friend. he completely disregarded the lesson mrs. lee's lesson, but that didn't bother him at the moment. he could just ask asahi for the notes later. remembering asahi, he picked up his packed bag and made his way towards the aforementioned boy so that they could walk to their next class together.

junkyu walked towards the school's dance studio 15 minutes after the final class of the day ended for most students the korean slumped whilst muttering a couple profanities along the way. jihoon called and cheekily asked him to bring him his books that he accidentally left behind from his previous class, ending the call with a brief, "thank you, i love you bro!" before abruptly ending the call. the korean opened the cold door of the dance studio and stepped inside. there weren't many people in the room, with about four or five people seen practicing and rehearsing. junkyu spotted jihoon with doyoung sitting on the floor leaning against a wall. he made his way towards them and handed jihoon his belongings, not before nagging at him for an additional few minutes. after hearing an earful, junkyu was invited to sit and join them for the remaining of their practice, to which he immediately agreed seeing as he had nothing else to do after school. he turned his gaze to see where his two friends were supposedly looking at before he arrived, only to catch a certain japanese dancing to the current song blaring through the studio. mashiho was in a trance, moving his body swiftly to the rhythm without missing a beat. his expression was different from the soft, cute, baby face that junkyu gradually grew accustomed to, and was instead replaced by sharp, piercing facial features that focused solely on the individual steps taken and swaying of limbs to the music.
