It was a normal day for the ducks.
A little too normal for some, Duke finds it at some point extremely boring. They fight for justice, save the earth and humans and above all, being the famous hockey team of Anaheim. What else do they need? Some might say they are happy with what they got, but Duke thinks otherwise. He missed the thrill to be hunted, stealing diamond, jewels and rubies, just for the sake of it. A thief like him needs training once in a while.
And an opponent.
The thieves on earth, are all in Duke's eyes; lousy amateurs. His old partner in crime was a good opponent, too bad he is already behind bars. Out of reflex, he went to the Anaheim mall and stole a business man his wallet. Putting the item in his pocket, he made sure to return the wallet to the police, pretending that he found it on the ground. No one can prove him otherwise. At that moment, a kid pushed him aside, "Watch it man!"
Duke was impressed at how rude that boy is, "Didn't your mother teach you to apologize?!"
The child was already out of sight, that it didn't matter anymore. The duck only wanted to return the item and get back home...that is...if he still had it..."Huh...what...but I had it...no way...that kid!" No doubt about it, the boy stole the wallet. Him...the biggest thief in Puck world, being stolen by a kid! Duke won't have it; he was determined to get his pride back.
The boy was hiding in the amusement part.
This place was shut down years ago, a perfect area to stay. Especially for someone that is on the run. After his parents got divorced, he felt like a burden to his mother. To help her through this tough time, he wants to get enough money to support her, not matter how he gets it. The wallet he snitched doff the duck was filled with cash. The boy couldn't be happier, "Jackpot!"
"Same" said someone from above.
Duke found him quickly, asking several pedestrians about him. Too bad, he had clothes on that make him stand out of the crowd. The boy however, didn't give up that easily. The former thief refused to take his sword out against a kid, taking him down with his own hands. The kid ran into a salon like place, all in Western style. Duke watched him, as he climbed out the window and into the next thing, the house of the sheriff. There, thought Duke, there I can get him.
He found the child in one of the prison cells, sitting beside him, "Game over kid, now give me back my wallet."
"I need it"
The duck noticed his sad look, "What is wrong?"
The boy told him the whole story. Right as he was reaching the part to need the money for his mother, he stood up, "And therefore, I will gain enough to make her proud."
Duke understood his worries, but stealing won't help him or his mother, "I know it is hard coming from me, but this isn't right. Why don't you support her with your school work, I bet you are still in one."
The boy stood before the prison cell, "I dropped out, to help her, therefore..."
Duke's eyes widened, as the door closed, "Hey, that inst funny kid!"
"I know, but thank you for your support" he said, showing him another wallet.
"Give me back my wallet?!"
"See you sucker" The boy was half way outside, as Duke told him to stop. The kid's eyes were now wide, seeing the duck out of his cell. He held the keep in his hand, "You think you are better than me?"
"As a matter of fact..." Duke forgot the second door to the cell, "...I do."
He forgot to steal the other key.
