You felt a little awkward walking down the halls in your hero costume. You had tried to normalize it as much as you could by taking your gas mask and goggles off, but it still felt a little weird just wearing the loose jumpsuit in public without doing any hero related activity.

The halls were eerily quiet, worsening the sinking feeling in your gut by the second. Why were you so scared? The detective and nurses told you Aizawa would be fine, so why did you still feel like he was on his deathbed or something?

Your eyes skimmed the walls in search of his room number, each door's number you passed slowly grew closer and closer.

245.

Here it was. Your legs froze, fingers slowly curling around the doorknob but not twisting it open just yet. You weren't sure you were ready to see the state he was in, the nurses told you it looked worse than it actually was but you knew your mind would jump to the worst conclusion possible no matter what anyone told you.

Nervously, you pushed open the door and let your eyes fall onto the figure laying down, covered in bandages from head to toe.

"That you, kid?" He muffled out.

The door slowly closed behind you as you froze with a troubled and concerned expression. "Yeah," you mumbled softly.

"Figured you'd use me as an excuse to skip school."

"Wh- No! It's not like that!" You exclaimed as you pushed yourself over the his bed.

"I'm just messing with ya, kid," he sighed, "I'll be alright, don't worry about me."

You pulled up a chair and took a seat beside him, feeling guiltier by the second as you looked him over. "I'm sorry I wasn't there," you murmured.

Aizawa was quiet for a minute before he sighed, "Stop that crap, if you were there it would've been all the same outcome, maybe even worse for you, because I would've beat the shit out of ya if you tried jumping in," he chuckled, only half joking.

"Still...while you were out there having to go through all of this I was completely clueless, I had no idea what was going on."

"Like I said, there's nothing you could've done anyways. I'm just glad that you're okay. We're you with anyone when you got sent off?"

"Yeah, I was with Kirishima and Bakugo in the collapse zone. Kirishima caught me when I fell out of the warp and Bakugo saved me from one of the villains there." You recalled, remembering how Bakugo had pulled you close to him awkwardly and glad Aizawa couldn't see your visible embarrassment. "I even got to beat some of them up too," you chuckled quietly.

"Let me guess, you got distracted thinking about how badass you were so Bakugo had to come to your rescue."

"I- no, of course not!"

"Yeah okay."

You smiled softly, happy to see he was still himself, but that didn't change how bad you felt. You didn't want to feel this way, in fact you knew that Aizawa was right and that there was nothing you could've done without him scolding you about it later, but you still felt shitty. You raised your hand and lightly wiped at your watery eyes silently, grateful your guardian couldn't see you.
