Happy Anniversary: Niam

-Liam's P.O.V.-

When I came back to my flat that I share with my best friend, and boy friend, Niall.

I walked up to the door and was about to put my hey in the slot when the door slowly creaked open. I walked in slowly, just to be safe, I wasn't scared or anything. Pssshh yeah right. Me scared? Nooo.

As I walked into the hallway I tried to turn on the ligh, it just flickered on then back off again.

When I went to get more light bulbs to fix it I saw we had no more. Great. Note my sarcasm?

So I took out my phone to use as a flash light. I used it to go to the bathroom, I really gotta wee. I tried to turn on that light to. It didn't work as well. What? Are all out lights dead?

I looked into the mirror while I was washing my hands and saw a little yellow sticky note in the bottom left corner.

I smile slightly. Last time we had sticky notes around the house it was me sending Niall on a scavenger hunt for our 1 month anniversary.

Tonight is out 1 year anniversary, but he went back to Ireland visit family yesterday.

He probably left them around the house to remind him to bring everything. He's pretty forget full. 

I was began to crumple the paper when something caught my eye. So I slowly un-crumpled the sticky note and read it.

"Liam, 

Hi! It's me. Niall. ;) 

So, you sure know me. 

But. Do you know my favourite place to be?"

Niall's favourite place to be? Where could that be? Wait! The kitchen.

I quickly ran into the kitchen and stuck to the box of Lucky Charms we leave on the counter was another note.

"Lili, 

hi there again, xP 

Where did we first meet? 

Talk to the person that you first greet."

What does that mean?

Well, we met at the coffee shop on his collage campus, it's a community coffee shop so everyone's allowed to go. I didn't go to his collage, but that coffee shop had the best coffee around, so that's how I we met.  

So, maybe he means there.

When I there I saw the little cast-iron table outside of the shop, the first place we had talked.

Sitting there was an old man. I walked up to him.

"Hi." He just nodded in response. Well this is awkward. Maybe if I describe Niall to him he could help me.

"Um... Sorry to bother you but have you ever met a boy who has blond hair, clear braces, and is Irish?"

"Are you Liam?" He asked in a broken and gruff voice.

"Yes." I replied. He just nodded and handed me a yellow sticky note. It read;

"Leeyumm, ;P 

This might be your last trip alone. 

Sooo... Make your way back home. :)"

What? He just had me leave. Now he wants me to go back?

What ever. I'll do anything for him because I love him.

I quickly got back home, but what I saw once I opened the front door was unbelievable.

It was a rose petal path with little tea light candles on either side alternating every two feet.

I followed the path, still in awe.

It lead to the bed room when I opened it, I got the greatest surprise of my life.

My boyfriend, Niall.

"Ni." I breathed out.

"Li." He smiled.

"Ni. What are you doin--" He cut me off.

"Don't speak, just close your eyes and listen."

As soon as I closed my eyes he started talking.

"Li, I know we met only a year ago, but I feel I know everything about you. I know your favourite colour is Purple. I know you have two sisters called Ruth, and Nicola. I know you love turtles. And I know a lot more. But I also know that there is a lot of things I don't know about you. And I want to learn. In order for me to do that I'd like to be with you, forever. For me to do that I'd like you to do me the honor of being my husband. Will you, Liam James Payne, marry me?"

I opened my eyes to see Niall on one knee in front of me holding a blue velvet ring box, containing a beautiful ring. It was silver with a gold inscription on the inside saying "Forever & Always" and a single diamond on the outside.

I saw his smile start to fade and he started to stand up. That's when I realize I haven't answered him yet. He started apologizing,  

"I'm sorry Li. Was it to early? I knew I should have waited longer. Just forg--"

I cut him off by jumping at him wrapping my arms around him yelling,

"YES! YES! A THOUSAND TIMES YES! I would love to marry you Niall."

We stared into each others eyes and I didn't even realize I was crying until I felt his thumb brush some of the tears away.

"You've just made me the happiest man alive Li." He whispered quietly, leaning in slightly.

"I love you."

I whispered leaning in the rest of the way. As our lips touched it's like the very first time. Fireworks.

We broke apart breathing heavy.

"Happy anniversary babe." He whispered.

"Happy anniversary." I whispered back.
